David Dein confirmed it a few years ago and apologized to Ashley Cole. https://metro.co.uk/2022/09/17/davi...-arsenal-invincible-ashley-cole-17394810/amp/ And from my understanding, Cole wanted the club to pay the agent fee while the club wanted Cole to pay it.
I can't find the Odegaard thread but anyway Cannon Stats has a deep dive on MO Basically he seems to be elite. Favourable comparisons with KDB, Ozil etc. Not quite as good an attacker as Wirtz who has more freedom. I agree with Willis conclusion that when things are not going as hoped, the temptation is to tear down the big players, when the issues probably lie elsewhere. Ozil certainly suffered from that where he was criticised endlessly for not being a player different to what he was - which was the fault of Wenger for not buying the other players we actually needed like functional 6, proper winger etc. https://www.cannonstats.com/p/evaluating-some-common-critiques
Ode looked great against Israel. 3 assists, I think the other stat was 8 key passes. If only we had a striker for him to get the ball to.
Some people just like to dis on people and tear them down. It's their MO. And in this case their MO on MO. And as for his thread, I also went looking and found nothing also. Huh? I'm sure there must've been one, no?? If not, it's about bloody time!!!!
The other guy is apparently Richard Garlick, I had no idea what he looked like and I assumed he was older.
Seems like the best place to put this. Per usual, Rog asks several insightful and several hilarious questions. Great interactions between Rice and MLS, and you get a better sense of MLS’ mentality right now.
Thanks. I've been meaning to watch this (will do). Edit: Just did. Definitely picked me up a little from my Arse doldrums. All 3 were great: Myles, Dec and Rog who rarely disappoints. But (there's always a but) this interview was a moment in time, a day or two before we lost Gabriel for long time, and possibly Timber TBD. It might've been a different interview had it been done yesterrday. p.s. Has no-one created threads for Myles or Ethan yet? Hint, hint.
Good long answer from Arteta on the difficulty of dealing with injuries https://arseblog.news/2025/04/arteta-reveals-massive-fights-with-gabriel-over-hamstring-issues/
Well the numbers likely to be free next season are: 3, 17, 20, 21, 24, 27, 30, 32 When Zubamendi broke into the Real Sociedad first team he wore 36, then 3, and currently 4. Can't see white giving up 4, so maybe Zuba takes 3. Gyokeres wore 17 at Coventry City before 9 at Sporting, so maybe he takes 17 until Jesus leaves at the end of next season. Alternatively Sesko wore 30 at RB Salzburg before wearing 30 at RB Leipzig.
Oh I should have clarified those are the numbers that will potentially be free'd up by players leaving this offseason, I forgot to include the numbers already available like 1 (soon to be Raya), 10, 13, 14, 16, 25, 26, 28, 31, 34-40
