It’s Joel Embiid on US television coverage of the weekend because they were in Philly for a ‘fan fest’.
shit, sorry. i didn't realise that would be region gated. howard interviewed embiid, as tonerl said. there's a small bit where they touched on him being an arsenal supporter.
this gave me a good laugh. Both Nuno Tavares - on loan at Marseille - & Bukayo Saka entering Arsenal team-mate Emile Smith Rowe’s one million follower giveaway on Instagram. 😂❤️ #afc pic.twitter.com/xTnOfNOIh5— afcstuff (@afcstuff) October 19, 2022
Arsenal player signs new contract, but it's not Martinelli, Saka or Saliba. Big Gabi! Committed ✊We are delighted to announce Gabriel Magalhaes has signed a new long-term deal with us ❤️🙌 @biel_m04— Arsenal (@Arsenal) October 21, 2022
oof. 11 years ago . Arsene Wenger fielded the worst starting XI in Arsenal history. We were in the TRENCHES🥺🤦 pic.twitter.com/FOinqOfsP3— 🥤𝑩𝒂𝒏𝒌𝒔 (@AfcBanks_) October 25, 2022
it feels like such an insane setup with that back 4. i will say that, at the time of signing, i did expect the squillaci signing to have worked out better than it actually did. i also think park was never really given a chance to figure his shit out. wenger did the same with perez.
i'm pretty sure its because we were destroying his achilles and didn't keep our word But christ look at that back 4, Kos deserved so much better.
Well aware that hindsight is 20/20, but all 3 of those signings felt desperate to me at the time. Yes, I had faith they would come good under Wenger, but Park especially was such a head-scratcher. He didn’t have the cachet to fit into the team, and there were still major questions whether he was still obligated to fulfill his military service when we signed him. My comments why Koz left were totally meant in jest. I may have actually watched that match, and if so, I’m very glad I’ve totally forgotten about it.
Imagine having those players at your disposal and playing a back 4. Who was on the bench that day? Surely you play a back 3 of Djourou (would have been a Swiss international by then), Koz and Squillaci. I bet you we won that match. Thats probably the best part. Wenger at times had some horrendous line ups and he still got results. Imagine peak Wenger with our current list.
Solid banter… Andy Murray: "I messaged Federer, when I landed in Basel, and I said:'I just touched down in the city of one of the world's greatest ever athletes: Granit Xhaka." 😂😂 #afc pic.twitter.com/VjFYf4FpDE— Arsenal Harmony ⚡ (@ArsenalHarmoni) October 25, 2022
i have no idea who these folks are but the gesture and sentiment seems sweet. Thanks to the Gunners Pub for their hospitality extended to Gordon and myself today. Gordon wanted one last visit to Highbury and the Marble Halls were top of his list. Pub, Highbury, the gardens and the Emirates he had a great day. #arsenal pic.twitter.com/yWI88RkeZX— Richard (@mooro611) October 26, 2022 oh. and the hall looks gorgeous.
I hope he didn't have to pay anything to get in to see the Marble Halls! I made my own pilgrimage a few times: 1) right before they tore down Highbury and then 2) quite a few years later after the flats and gardens were built. On that last trip, my son & I basically snuck in via an open gate at the north bank end (actually it was me who snuck us in... my son was mortified... he's not much of a rule breaker). Long story short we somehow popped up right underneath the Marble Halls main entrance and the security guard unceremoniously booted us out... my backstory didn't help much.
