And for next season.... A variation on the Anaheim Angels 'Rally Monkey' you've seen if you've been watching their post-season run. Rally damb Gorilla! Have about 7,000 of those little toy gorillas that Pichon was holding when the Charge and SD were in that 45-minute lightning delay and paint those sticks red and have us fans raise the decibel level with those clanging together all game. As much as I want to see Minnesota stick it to Selig and their own owner by getting to the WS, a lesson can be gleaned from what Anaheim's doing to perfection.. Paul (whose next Charge game will be sometime in March 2003 as well, but it'd be pretty cool if he'd get invited to the Charge war room on the day of the WUSA draft )
Ah, I think originality is much preferred... Paul your job this off-season is to come up with an original idea , none of this copy cat stuff... Since I don't follow baseball any more, did my gorilla mask in July of 2003 come before the Angels, or did I have an inspiration separate from the people in Anaheim?? Speaking of the 2003 draft, hopefully wusa.com will have a running list of those drafted as it happens. I don't know if it's been done in the past, but I'd probably follow it this year. i think the charge should listen to their own fans and get a large bell to compliment the bell ringing NC does...do it after goals instead of that annoying hockey horn...after all the bell has been a Philadelphia symbol and source of pride for 200 years. perhaps procure an old fire bell from the radnor FD...or get one donated (i used to have an old ship's bell but some punk stole it when my grandma moved east). Also i think a good slogan is fitting here...after all the beat had our yard our rules in tribute to their teams goon tactics. any thoughts on this? I think that would add some local color and originality...and charge fans 2003 the year of the bell BRING EM AND RING EM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How about a large version of teh LIBERTY BELL... which gets rung whenever the Charge score... and masters of the bell??? Any volunteers?? We need two guys in monkey suits dedicated to this task.
