I do not want to repeat if there is a thread for this already. If so mods please merge. (I did a quick search forum and nothing came up) FIFA TV has a series of videos called Raising the Game that talks about the history of the Womens World cup. Here is part one, I will not post the other parts (8 I think) They are all on YouTube.

Thats a great series. Classics, baby. My favorites episodes are from 2003 when Germany and Rottenberg beat Amerikas Mia Hamm on their way to their first title and the greatest World Cup team performance of all time the legendary german team of 2007 winning the World Cup without conceding a goal and becoming the first back 2 back world cup champions. Sweet.
well since I do not see them on the play list above, I will post them here. 1. An introduction 2. China in 1988 for the unofficial debut of the Women's World Cup 3. Blazing the way in 1991 4. Enjoying it in 1995
5. Going big in 1999 6. Change of guard in 2003 7. Germans too strong in 2007 8. The stage gets bigger It stops before 2011 I wish they could add more for each WC.
One of my favorite soccer memories is making the trip to Columbus in 2003 and watching Germany play in person. I was still somewhat new to the sport, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but that German team blew me away. I don't think they were quite as good in 07, but they were still good.
I was looking for a coaches thread but I did not see one, so I will post this here. First women coach in Hing Kong to win a males championship. 723578076559511552 is not a valid tweet id
