I live in Vancouver. We don't have much show in winter, so this is not a problem. The only problem is a constant showers, that make every practice or game very tough  . I play soccer for a long time and I've notice, that after about 2 month of every day use in such conditions, there appaer tiny chinks at the bottom of a soccer shoe (the place whear a leather part and a sole are joined) It usually means I have to buy a new pare of boots every 3 months, no matter that this is $100 Umbro. What are your advices?

hey i also encounter this problem. its november the raining season and it rains like freak. my total 90 chome(not airzom) split at the sole due to the rain. i went to the nearby clobber and got it done. now its back to normal. but it also depends on the pitch u play in. now, on rainy days i wear my pulse to train. pulses are durable and the sole are jointed well. maybe u get a pulse eh ?

You can try different shoes. I totally abuse my Puma Kings, and they hold up after lots of use on wet and muddy ground.

If you get leather shoes, you should also use a good leather conditioner to keep it flexible and water proof. I like the Roo Brand stuff.

You should put dubbing on your boots. That will just help to seal off the leather. Also, make sure you let the boots dry out in the natural air. Dont put them on a radiator or anything as this damages the leather on the boots. Stuff the inside of your boots with newspaper and this will help to absorb the moisture.

Actually I don't participate at any soccer clubs right now because I moved here from Russia in march '04, so obviously I missed all club tryouts. Now I have to wait until spring '05. Currently I play for my school soccer team.

Leather conditioner works really good! It will help your shoes last longer
