Actually really excited about seeing quinones play CF, hopeful that Rafa is able to unleash him at his most potent position. I think we will have cover in the wings, even if it’s Piojo for a few more years, curious to see lainez given a shot too and hopefully oziel goes to feyenoord but it seems increasingly less likely since Tigres hasn’t signed anyone and will likely be more reluctant to let him move on as a result

Still hoping Chino doesn't move to Toluca as rumored (he hasn't signed yet) and gives it another go at Anderlecht. The guy was progressing fairly well before getting hurt.

I would be very surprised with the money they spent on Vinas, if they’re able to sign both + beat America to Guzman and also pay for guti

I mean, most of our options behind Quiñones and Piojo are unproven, have been injured or not shown that much in el Tri.

He deserved more of a chance with vasco. He was one of the best players in the league and also looked very good vs the American bunkers in the concacaf tourney too. I haven’t given up entirely on him

He was good enough to go to Europe and he was playing quite well. If there’s one thing I learned from the World Cup is that we shouldn’t disparage our players so much, even a player like piojo who we all shit on was a big hit at the World Cup

he was good enough to not listen to Guardado, bottle it, and get sent packing. I'm done with him. he will be 30 years old by the next world cup, probably worse level than Vega.

    Pass.

Guardado spoke on how he would always tell lainez that he needs to track back as part of his defensive duties and he would never listen to him at Betis. Then once he got back to Tigre’s he said he started to do it and told Guardado he messed up

I see the confusion, you're talking about Laínez, we're talking about Huerta.

Maybe he’s not as disciplined defensively but I really don’t think it would have hurt to have him in a game similar to the England game. Piojo was fatigue asf and his speciality isn’t dribbling, with so many players in the box someone like Diego with fresh legs and a proven ability to maneuver with the ball would have definitely helped. It’s not like they were attacking so much he would need to transform into a right back

Even if Lainez was on the bench would Vasco have even put him in? The subs against England were terrible. We needed better crossers and he left Mateo & Chino on the bench while leaving Piojo & Gallardo on. Vasco put in deadweight Memote FFS!

No, because he’s not a tactician. But that doesn’t mean Rafa won’t be able to read the game better and find better solutions because I think the consensus is quinones should have stayed on, Luis Chavez brought in and if someone like lainez would have been there it would have been the perfect sub for piojo who had no legs most of the second half. But for that reason I wouldn’t say something like, I don’t want to see someone like him near the national team again. He is a talented player
