I missed it. Did anyone catch it? Any interesting points?

As a general matter, it's impressive for Memo and Arturo to get 45 minutes on Unica en Deportes. That's just a huge segment.

“MEMO” GONZALEZ AND ARTURO ALVAREZ MAKE NATIONAL RADIO DEBUT

The two highly touted Project-40 and youth national team players, Guillermo "Memo" Gonzalez and Arturo Alvarez, were live guests at the Radio Unica studios in Miami on Monday night on the popular daily sports program “Unica En Deportes” conducted by Jorge Ramos. The 17-year-old players were on the air for approximately 45 minutes discussing topics ranging from their path to professional soccer, overseas training, their hopes for the 2003 SuperDraft and the allegiances of their households of Mexican (Gonzalez) and Salvadoran (Alvarez) heritage. They also fielded several calls from fans.

Radio Unica, the largest national Hispanic radio network in the U.S., is the home of the weekly one hour radio show "Unicamente MLS" during the MLS season and it also aired live coverage of MLS Cup 2002 live from Gillette Stadium in Foxboro last October. The network, which has also recently entered into a partnership to cover U.S. National Team matches through 2006, will also broadcast coverage of MLS' showcase events of 2003: the Pepsi MLS All-Star Game and MLS Cup 2003.

I missed it too. The one time i did not tune in during the week....Anyway, i write them an email asking if they were going to talk about the draft. Jorge said that they would talk about it the next couple of days in case you are interested

Assuming they develop as we hope (they are both projected to be in the Donovan and Beasley category), I thing that Double-A and G-2 (that should be a "squared" symbol, I just don't know how to make the font) could really be major catalysts in helping US Soccer and MLS bridge the gap within the Latino community.

Telefutura's Contacto Deportivo program (daily, 30 min, general sports news/highlights) covered Memo and Arturo in the SuperDraft - gave their ages and nat'l origins, mentioned US nat'l youth team participations and MLS teams that drafted them, and showed some footage of them from the Combine and KC. These guys are well-positioned to get a lot of coverage in US Spanish-language media. Hopefully, they'll live up to their billing.

Btw, Contacto Deportivo also covered Friedel's award and briefly previewed the US x Canada game.
