    Best week ever for MLS?

just checked in w/ the mls site and saw that radio shack signed as a sponsor...

with the tv deals announced this week (foxsports and HDnet), the announcement for the dallas stadium, the corporate sponsorship....

i can't recall a better week for the league as far as feeling "cautiously" optimistic...

add to that a positive article by graham jones....

    Darkness!!!
apparently yes... This is great, now only if DCU could get a shirt sponsor. Shame we can't lure MasterCard back.

I wasn't asking, I was stating. (notice the lack of the 'question mark')

This MLS locomotive is starting to pick up some speed and momentum.

    What a week.

It used to be a good news/ bad news kind of cycle. Nothing but good news for a while now.

Does DCU still have a relationship with the Army?

Could be appropriate given the type of players on the squad this year. Actually, Marines would be more appropriate.

The Army is an MLS sponsor? first time i heard that.
it would go along with the D.C. United though.
Maybe Tide will become someones shirt sponsor. heard they are onboard this season

I didnt know they (the Army) were a sponsor, but I have noticed that they advertise during telecasts, and sponsoer "commercial free" blocks of time during the games.

I'm now going to Radio Shack to replace this battery on my cordless phone! I was going to go to Wal Mart instead, but this changed my mind and made it worth the extra ten minutes of drive.

Of course, Wal Mart did have an agreement with MLS too last year, but I go there all the time.

All Radio Shack wants in return is your name, address and phone number,

Too bad Steve Shack is out of the league. He could have had his own radio program or a nicname or something.

Radio Shack is giving away free trash (TRS) 80s on opening day. Of course this reference dates me.

I don't believe they've ever been an actual league sponsor. They used to be a sponsor of DC United locally (not currently listed on the DCU sponsor list: http://www.dcunited.com/index.cfm?section=fans&cont_id=98119 ).
