I saw in the LA Times that KSPN has picked up the Angeles broadcasts for next year, and is swapping signal frequencies with Redio Disney. So, our ESPN Radio outlet will now be AM 710 rather than AM 1110.

But, if they are carrying the Angel games, what is the likelihood of ESPN Radio still carrying the GaLAxy games? It would seem that there would be a lot of conflicts, and at best we would be getting a lot of tape-delay broadcasts. And, I don't see that Radio Disney would have much interest in carrying LAG broadcasts.

So, is our radio team homeless next year? Any insight, Dave?

I'm guessing nothing will be announced until a couple weeks before the season starts (just as it has been the last few seasons)

It's a good move for the Angels and ESPN 1110 (soon to be 710), but it will cause conflicts galore.

I am just speculating from some insight here, but expect the Galaxy to be put on Radio Disney 1110 quite often.

Let's be honest, there will be VERY FEW Galaxy games on ESPN 710 next year. But the GM of all Disney-owned stations here in LA mentioned they are committed to the Galaxy.

I am glad to hear about the commitment. If possible, I would prefer to see the whole package moved to Radio Disney rather than see it split between Radio Disney and ESPN Radio. There is a real value to continuity as opposed to being bounced around from station to station. It also makes you look second rate if you are preempted.

P.S. - I agree it is a good move for the Angels. Just don't want to see LAG get lost in the lurch

In truth, Cadaver, the Galaxy may request being put on 1110am next year exclusively, and I agree with you that this will be very good for the Galaxy. Keeps the consistency from this year to next too.

    oh please, oh please 710AM

Angels have been playing on 570, for awhile, I think.

I heard tonight's game on 710; it comes in fairly clear in SD. 1110 is rough to pick up south of the 5-405, so unless ESPN is going to up their wattage (good luck), I couldn't see why the Angels would want to do this.

(Of course, I couldn't see why they'd want to throw away the fine season they've had, but that doesn't seem to be stopping them.)
