Extremely accurate. We live in Wealthy Exurb, KS, and Wealthy Exurb gave us a grant to help offset the cost of replacing our windows. We......we don't really need the help.

Luckily (for us soccer fans) many of them still believe even watching soccer causes you you turn more feminine or communist so most stay away ;)

Wasn't there a very familiar scene recently somewhere else in Euro football, except in that one the black player walked off after the abuse and the ref red-carded him? I heard about it third-hand.

  9. Racist Nissan should be boycotted into bankruptcy:

"In the first test of its kind, Global NCAP has crashed the best-selling pick up model in Africa, the 2019 Nissan NP300 Hardbody, into a second-hand Nissan Navara NP300 manufactured in Europe in 2015. The unique car to car crash test graphically demonstrates the double standard currently applied by Nissan and other car makers to vehicle safety in Africa. The difference in safety performance between the new African model and the second-hand European version is a matter of life and death. The crash test driver dummy in the new African Nissan would have likely sustained fatal injuries, the driver of the equivalent second-hand European model would have likely walked away from the crash. The second-hand European car is fitted with the life saving crash avoidance anti-skid system, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), the new African version is not."

This looks more like a very naive decision rather than straight up conservatism, but whatever. He wasn't going to be able to stay.

MLS and the NBA skew the other way. If we don’t see it in NFL or MLB circles outside of people feigning outrage over a few players kneeling during the anthem, I doubt we see it in MLS.

But let them be ignorant enough to out themselves in the process of trying.

By the look on Pseudo Elvis' face he can't figure out which is more embarrassing. Being an Elvis impersonator. Or being an Elvis impersonator at Hebrew Himmler's wedding.

Well the cost isn’t a completely irrelevant factor. One model starts at 29,500 USD in the UK and the other starts at 15,000 USD in South Africa. And whatever manufacturing cost reduction you see in South Africa vs Spain is roughly offset by higher materials prices.

Companies will make the cheapest possible shit that barely climbs over the regulatory bar in a given jurisdiction. South Africa, Laos, Romania, West Virginia. It doesn’t matter.

But, but, but regulations KILL JOBS! Let the Invisible Hand of the Marketplace decide, not some paper-pushing bureaucrat!

Craziest car ride of my life was in Cairo riding in a Fiat. A new version of which probably couldn’t have been sold in Italy within 25 years of that ride. EU street legal Fiats are shit, so that tells you what we were dealing with. If the safety features don’t kill you, the carbon monoxide might. The driver went the wrong way down a 5 lane roadway. At night. With his headlights off. Because headlamps are expensive in Egypt.

And good luck being a pedestrian there. Walking 6 blocks could feel like the Boston marathon.

  20. They however market the cars with the same name and looks like the safe European ones. So if they cut costs let it be clear by making the cars look different and named different. Now they're cheating killing bastards.

Given a choice, would you want a VW build in Mexico, Brazil, or Germany?

Their Spyders were priced for a young person and really looked nice. Shame they didn't run any more reliably than they did.

So African countries have lower safety standards than European?

    I am shocked.

I think it was Venezuela, but they only made seat belts mandatory for cars manufactures like a decade ago.
