You completely miss the point. Glenn Beck isn't posing as an historian. He has documents that shed new light on the eras from which the documents come. The documents stand on their own merits.
I would trust my mailman to be more knowledgeable on history than Glenn Beck. Beck's a friggin wackadoo.
Again, you miss the point. Beck is simply presenting the evidence. What you do with it is up to you. Yours is an ad hominem argument and therefore is vapid. Try harder.
Dude, you still don't get it. Here we go : " Beck presenting the evidence" is a complete oxymoron. It is a non starter. Nobody with a functioning brain will take that seriously.
Glenn Beck evidence Military intelligence Independent centrist Movement Conservative National Socialist Free Market Alex Jones theory Who's got more?
I remember in the naive old days watching one of Glenn Beck's Fox efforts to try and understand what the hell all the fuss was about. The show explained how Obama was working with the UN to secretly instal a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT. Anther time he got very angry on the television about DDT and Joni Mitchell. Man that stuff seems tame these days
When I was working on the dark side of the Carbon industry, we got heavily into this stuff. A big challenge for climate change is population growth, and what arrests population growth is energy security. A big part of increased dirty coal generation in China was the first wave of industrialization of the country - bringing power to communities for the first time ever. So an opportunity for the industry, would be solving that challenge in other, sustainable ways. But of course the industry is often too regressive.
LOL I mean it doesn't take 2 mins of googling to discover this is a cookie cutter of the ole climate change denial template. Somehow Glenn Beck, of all the 1000s of professionals who devoted their careers to this pursuit, has realised they were all wrong, and ONLY HE can debunk the myths. But like you say, if you can do this in climate, where actual empirical data is involved, creating fake history is easy
It's kind of amazing how climate change is patient zero for this stuff. All scholarship can be dismissed because of a "hard and fast agenda" or supposedly some financial incentive. It's been interesting that this was also the basis for the Obamagate conspiracy - that a trawl through the records of the deep state would produce the incriminating evidence. Actual sane people were wondering why Billy Barr didn't go there - but in the end, because his lackeys couldn't find the "evidence" he was not prepared (surprisingly) to manufacture it. Then on election fraud we've seen how much further these people are prepared to go. But it reminds me of something Jon Favreau said about political conspiracies in the US these days. They used to start slowly with foundational work like 911 truthing - but now they are just invented in real time. Trump doesn't even bother to have "overlooked documents"
Apparently they do have Barton on speed dial - this seems to be another grift. You can't make it up .... but wait! You can make it up! the latest move by Barton and Beck is a two-week program, for $375 a head, that will teach their fake version of history to high school graduates before they head off to college so "they can then set their ignorant professors straight on the 'real' history of America." Beck isn't subtle about his intention to give college professors headaches by filling their classrooms with fledging right-wing nuts spewing "alternative facts" about history. “Your kids will be challenged to go and find the documents to make the cases that they’re most likely going to have to make in college with their professors,” Beck said in his announcement. "I guarantee you the professors at college will have the wrong answer." The "wrong" answers, in this case, being the actual facts of history. Barton, whose historical views are the ones Beck is pushing here, is pretty shameless about making stuff up if it suits his view that our country was meant to be a Christian theocracy and not a secular democracy. "For example, in his version of history, the founding fathers 'already had the entire debate on creation and evolution,' and chose creationism," explained the Southern Poverty Law Center profile of Barton. "Reality check: Charles Darwin didn’t publish his theory of evolution in "The Origin of Species" until 1859, more than half a century after the founding fathers were active." https://www.salon.com/2017/04/14/fi...ung-people-to-promote-an-alternative-history/
I am coming around to the idea that "cancel culture" (itself a subset of right wing campus wars), is a conspiracy theory. I mean who are these shadowy forces who somehow suppress the voices of all these white male college professors? It buys into the Jordan Peterson mythology that alternative voices would bring us the "real truth" if only the elite powers were not holding them back. Yet on any rational basis, Peterson is simply a grifter who publishes bad work and attacks his colleagues. And how was he "cancelled" exactly? Probably in the 90s these people would have spent 100s on Tony Robbins self improvement grift - but now the market is for culture grift. But there is also an interesting link up I found on Q - that large spreaders of conspiracy theories are women who are also active in these MLM sales programmes .... Oh what a time to be alive!
Trump went directly back to Joe McCarthy, who held up an empty envelope, again and again and again. I am scarcely the first one to write this, but Donald Trump is Joe McCarthy reincarnated. Every single Trump supporter would have been a Joe McCarthy booster back in the day. And that's just ... sad. Joe McCarthy was an absolute, uncontested idiot, whom absolutely nobody attempts to defend today. Not even fake historians.
