It is not fair to post that pretty clearly you wrote. [emoji848][emoji6]
There must be a rule about that on BigSoccer. [emoji106]

Really, drillrap in the US has absolutely nothing to do violence in the Netherlands. If drillrap in the Netherlands is "causing" a problem among the young in the Netherlands, that is a SOCIETAL problem, not a MUSIC problem.

How is it possible that the good Dutch folks cannot teach their children that they can enjoy their music and not act out the words, just like they can go see a slasher movie and not necessarily become a serial killer?

Seems like bad parenting, on a national scale (based solely on how often you post about it).

If some American in Rotterdam plays drillrap loud on their car speakers, does that mean Dutchie yoots have to go wilding around the town? Do Dutchies have zero self-control nowadays?

Ewing used to get lots of abuse at Georgetown. The Big East 30 for 30 goes into it.

I really wish that aspect of his life/career had been covered (at all? more?) when he was a player. I was a huge fan of Georgetown/Ewing/Thompson back then, and had no clue that was happening (that being the naivete of youth).

Funny you should write that, since I attended a Georgetown-Nova game wherein Nova students unveiled a giant "Patrick Ewing = The Missing Link?" banner.

To be expected from Nova, sadly.

Did they mention that Ewing got extra time to take the SAT because he had a learning disability? How many people with learning disabilities did Georgetown admit that year who weren’t 6’11”?

If thy were motivated to jeer him because of that, that’s not racism, that’s attacking the corruption of big time college athletics.

Im half joking but half serious. It’s racist if they treated him poorly because of his appearance. It’s not racist if they treated him poorly for reasons other than his appearance.

Yes, the Whitelandian yoots were clearly motivated by the perceived unfair testing rules for big-time athletes with learning disabilities. You nailed it again, SD.

So on brand for NC State. A few years back they were in the college World Series. All they had to do was win one of two games to win the championship. Their manager is an anti-vaxxer and the team had an outbreak. IIRC in the second of those two games they only had like 10 players, and they had to play a pitcher at DH and in the outfield.

    They did not become champions.

UNC fans respect but hate Dook. State is a ********ing joke to us.

As with most 30 for 30s, the Big East one is very good. Especially if you recall the glory days before it all went to hell in the 90s.

Ewing was a tremendous shot blocker and had a B.E. team in the final against blueblood NC within 3 years of the B.E. existing.

A liddle B.E. anecdote. A guy who graduated with my sis was a 1st year undergrad assistant on Villanova's bench when they upset Georgetown in the '85 final. That's him with the light brown hair under Rollie's left arm.

Back in the 70's Kansas State "fans" threw bananas at KU basketball player Donnie Von Moore.

Conservatives will point out that it was in response to the KU fans throwing hot dogs at KState in the previous game.

If it doesn't happen, it's because I posted ahead of it.

It happened to Patrick Ewing too, IIRC. But that was 30-40 years ago. The shit in Europe is happening now.

    I remember that.

    30, 40, 50, same timeline.
Americans don't throw bananas anymore, but they do go into Black churches and shoot people.
And the USSF didn't have to throw bananas to keep American Latinos out of the US section v. Honduras a few cycles back.

Bottom line... no place is safe

When you're dealing with a statistical universe as small as NFL head coaches, it's not always easy to have enough data that a layperson, non-statistician, will look at a situation and think, I'm pretty sure there's some racisms going on there.

If the NFL didn't lose that battle last year (and I think they did; that Dolphins firing was bullshit) they've surely lost it now. RGIII puts it best.

I know the Rooney Rule in practice is a joke. But Houston is a mess and Lovie was an odd hire to start with. Apparently Brian Flores was in the running for the Texans job until he sued the league last year for the Giants deciding on hiring Daboll before interviewing any minority candidates. My take is the crappy Texans went with a placeholder for a surely crappy year in veteran Lovie Smith who also happens to be a black guy.

So did Lovie know he was gone going onto the last game and failed to tank for the #1 pick or did they really wanna win?

Wonder if Jim Caldwell is in the running for any openings.
