A 1-1 draw versus Valenciennes today is certainly not going to get it done for Jean-Guy Wallemme. I'd like to hear from other Lens and general Ligue 1 supporters.
There's already a Lens thread - https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=466575 Atleast you didn't lose . Would've been an disaster to lose two straight derbies .
Yes it would have. However last week's derby was a disgraceful non-match thanks to the disgraced referee Tony Chapron who threw out two Lens players and reduced the match to a 9 against 11 washout. Indeed, the two plyers were shown red cards for simply talking back to Chapron. Pathetic.
i can understand the fury of RCL fans about this but perhaps the problem isn't chapron. officiating needs to be consistent; when one individual stands out he's the one that looks out of line, but perhaps he's right and the other refs wrong... at least for the moment. not only does law XII specifically forbid foul laguage and insults, and indicate a red card as suitable punishment, the LNF distributed a charter to all clubs, which all players signed, announcing the importance that particular point would have this season. sarcastically applauding a referee the way roudet did is almost always straight red, just ask wayne rooney, wesley sneijder... as for jema'a, he already been booked and been told by chapron (and by walleme at halftime if JG followed chapron's directions) to watch his conduct very carefully. asking for a yellow card the way he did is specifically mentioned in the conduct charter he signed (perhaps without reading it) at the beginning of the season. note that against schalke bastos got a biscotte for the very thing, so it's not a lubie franco-française.
Sidi Keita finally returns to the pitch. Wow that was great to see him come back after a great loan spell in La Liga and a terrible early season injury. I think he will really solidify the midfield.
