Very appropriate way for this game to finally open up some scoring. A shot that is deflected and goes in.

eta: Most of the games in this 2018WC, the team that have the most possession end up losing goal(s), and this match, it Switzerland that has the possession of the ball, that mean Sweden will win, lol.

 

Nice but very shaky defending. Lets see IF swiss wake up again when down like vs serbs.

 

Because that shot otherwise was going straight to.the keeper.

 

Awful goal to take the lead for Sweden. A pity both teams cannot be eliminated.

As for style over winning. The best teams and the ones that are remembered are those that win but also win in style. That is why people still purr about Brazil in 1970 , Holland in 1974 and talk of Brazil 82 side with fondness and Argentina in 2006 even though they did not win in the end.

One side will win but they won't win any neutrals as fans. It's not even as if they can counter with any purpose or ability.

 

Or what really happened. VAR and specifically the failure to use it put Switzerland in this spot. That's a pretty big stain on FIFA at this tournament.
