Re: Seattle doubles up on reeling Portland could the camera work been any more ************? i really wanted to watch this game.
Re: Seattle doubles up on reeling Portland I liked the place they played at much better than Qwest Field. They just need to put a stand on the opposite side, and promote the team, and they'll be a successful USL: franchise.
I wonder if I can win a lawsuit for having my retinas burned? Seriously, shouldn't the cameras be on the western side of the stadium? Place looked great, nice crowd, and I'll wear my sunglasses when I watch the replay.
Well, they put the cameras on the other side and it looks like no one's there because there were only a few hundred people sitting on the grass on the side with no stand (where the cameras were). So it's pretty much a lose-lose situation. Agree though that the sun was really harsh and made it really hard to watch. Camera crew missed the 4:2 Graham goal completely as well
Its tough when you only have the one stand, the only solution would have been a 9pm kickoff which would have been too late on the East Coast, if that matters. What facility did they use? Looked very nice.
Starfire Sports Complex. It is a soccer-specific soccer complex about 10 miles south of Seattle. 8 fields, restaurant/pub, indoor soccer center. Main stadium seats 2,000. ManU have their first North American "School" there. Nice looking place. Sorry if this has been asked before, but any chance of the Sounders moving there next season?
Not much chance, although this article does say the two games there this year were sort of "tryouts": http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/othersports/231769_sounders08.html Sounders fans have been discussing this at length here: http://soundercentral.com/modules.p...topic&t=2740&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 After this latest match, and the great atmosphere, it needs to be considered. There would have to be improvements made to the facility: 1. More Parking 2. Locker Room Upgrades 3. 1,000 added seats
Seattle Sounder Taylor Graham awarded "Player of the Week in USL-1" honors for his brace against PDX on national tv:
My God, truer words have never been spoken!!!! My wife usually goes out for a couple of drinks on a Friday and comes home and I'm watching FSC. She's English and so recognized football/soccer right away and says to me "Whos' playing" So I respond its Seattle vs Portland and a Cascadia Cup points match. So she says to me. Looks more like the Solar Eclipse Cup I had to concede the girl was right. That sun was awful for the first 30mins.
