2-2 draw. Seattle lead 2-0 until the 86th when things fell apart for the NW club. Champs' late one-two punch has Sounders on ropes Montreal's Charles Gbeke breaks Sounders hopes with 2 late strikes.
I didn't think that the p.a. announcement of Seattle possibly hosting the USL finals was a particularly good idea at the time.
About as good as the Whitecaps selling tickets to the USL-1 final before even playing one playoff game.
Live and learn. Now it is time to hope every frickin star in the universe aligns for a Sunday showdown with a complete Montreal side vs. as Sounders squad minus O'Brien, Galindo and Scott. This likely means starting Gregor, Welton and Jenkins. They can hold their own, but I would suspect the late collapse at Starfire has cost us a reasonable shot at coming out of Montreal with another match to play.
We Kickers' fans say--there's always hope! After all if you can go thirteen games in which you give up only 12 goals (3 while fielding a reserve team) and not win a single one -- and end up with a great shot of going to the final, anything is poss.
