I thought I would start this now so you can think about getting your pictures here for soccer fans to enjoy right away after the great event on 6/7 at Victoria Street. Of course many will see great shots of it on ESPN2 tomorrow but there are many that won't be able to see that in foreign lands and we need to show off our new jewel.
Keep in mind that the cameras will not capture many important images such as the restrooms, Pele eating a Prawn sandwich in the Stadium Club or even Dan Loney's arrest so try to get and post a lot of unique shots. :)

Here are some that might be mildly interesting to share. Here's Thomas Dooley with the Riot Squad.

Couldn't zoom in enough, but that's Pele on the jumbotron.

How were you guys getting along with the Red Devils next to you? It seemed, at least near the end their was a little cooperation at least with their drums and your chants and songs.

There was cooperation since the beginning, but sometimes we tended to speed up our chants with their drumming and a lot of times we were drowned out by them. Honestly, I think they should be in the opposite corner. It worked for both of us in Fullerton when we were in opposite sides.

The image needs a URL on the net. It must be hosted somewhere. The code to put it up is this but you must replace the parenthesis ( with brackets [ .. If I put the real code it would dissapear.

    (img)http://www.mysite.com/pics/myticket.jpg(/img)

If this were real then you would see a picture here.

If you don't get a hosting offer at BS you can always use a place like that.
It's Sunday so it's slower than usual at Big Soccer.

A lot of us who don't like Meola think Albright is a great man! :)
He is liked by many here. He keeps working to improve and always works hard. A good example despite his numbers in MLS.

How much coverage was there on local TV in LA?

I checked all of them I could during the late news period after the game.
It was pathetic. It was the last thing reported in almost all the sports segments and was usually about a 20-30 spot.
Perhaps one goal on each and a couple showed the bicycle kick.
The worst was the local fox station. The sports lady simply made her attempt at a gooooal call as they showed Ruiz's bicycle kick, which wasn't a goal and then cut a corner kick a cut it before it even reached the players in the middle. Didn't actually even show a goal. It was really pathetic.
The one exception was KCAL 9 who did a nice piece on the stadium's meaning to soccer here, etc. and actually showed properly edited highlights.
They are the local station for the Galaxy broadcasts so they better!
The times had a small article on it today in sports in the usual place for soccer. Burried several pages deep.
Of course when the Staples Center opened they had an entire supplemental section.

I always loved KCAL as I was growing up there. If i remember corectly, they had the best cartoons on saturday mornings. Glad to see they are still the best in LA.

The coverage of the opener suffered greatly due to coverage of the Mighty Ducks.

Hard to argue with that since the Ducks have always been one of the very worst professional sports franchises and they are continuing to do well in the Stanley Cup.

Whats in the water in Anaheim?
