    Angry Supporter...

Our best teams are getting absolutely humiliated! In our leauge owned closed footballing society, some say our 10 MLS teams are as good as leagues in England or Germany or you name the country.
    BULLSHOT.

Don't make excuses. We cannot tolerate these performances. Our teams have to fight, but even with lesser talent, MLS has to play better football to defend against such losses.

(Please don't embarrass yourself by explaing in some mad rambling that we somehow were better than the opposition) No explanation needed that is why the game was actually played!

    ...

How could you expect a different result with the kind of coaching here in USA... we need a change on COACHING MENTALITY Bruce prove to me and to many that we can find good coaches when DC United whoop Toluca at home but we need to RISE EXPECTATION on a short period, this will be a merciles job but we need to start NOW

LA is understandable. Down 2-1 and using all your energy to win the ball back and attack and they give up a goal for 3-1 and have a let down that allows it to go to 4-1. It shows a lack of mental toughness or physical preparedness, but the scoreline ends up being worse than the game.

Columbus was missing 4 starters, playing in altitude, and away and it would be hard to see them get a good result. The question here is why the coach didn't play a closed game trying to say get a 1 goal game. I think you have to question the coach.

MLS doesn't currently need new coaches. Sigi is proven in LA, Chicago has Arena's man, NY has Bob Bradley who is probably the best in MLS, and NE rounds out with some sort of England-Italian styled mix from someone who knows English football.

Gansler still troubles me in KC and I haven't been impressed with Columbus, Dallas, or Denver in this respect.

The problem with MLS is that it will take us about 26 years before we are turning out real pro players here (players that developed in an envirenment of all players who had developed in a proenvirenment) and we are only 8 years into that cycle. Mexico just has a better league...I mean most Mexican teams would be top half of say the Bundesliga.

Just as long as we can keep making fun of them for the World Cup, I'll be happy.

Bob Bradley's teams have often been injury plagued and still performed, in fact I think he lost to Necaxa in 99 in the CCC on PKs and lost a respectable series to Morelia with their injury depleted team last year 4-2 I think it was. Bradley has won an MLS Cup and the Open Cup twice I believe. Chicago's coach hasn't coached in MLS before. Sigi in LA has been coaching for what 4 years and has won a CCC, Open Cup, and MLS Cup.

These are the guys you want to get rid of?

Every poster here ( except Eliezar ) seems to finaly get the point

We need better coaching and stategy when going into games. I am one who belives that a game could be won or at least achive a good result even with a bad team if one pepares well mentaly and strategicly using your best assets and taking advantage of the other teams weakness. If you have to use bunker defence, and chop some feet down, so be it, you will do anything and everything you can to get the result you need.

A good coach is able to read the game and make the necessary changes during the game. If there is a problem with containing the other teams midfield what do you do ?...well you bypass it with long balls from defence. In every game there is a constant challange of the brain, you can't go into a game sit on the bench for 90 minutes and pray.

Yes, a good team can win games for a so-so coach, but a good coach can win games with a so-so team.

In the end I just want to say, it's never the players to blame, but the coach and manager.

"I bet you the Mexicans will be making fun of this for years to come.... "

I don't think so. Next year morelia will destroy another mls team by 6-0 for the third straight year in a row.

    This is terrible.

MLS should just close down all of it's teams to stop further embarassment.

I hold Sigi fully responsible for this loss. His system just down right sucks! Sigi's system of playing defense and counter attacking when needed is the total "Anti Soccer". This is not exceptable in LA! He also doesn't know talent when it hits him in the face. How he continues to leave Elliott in the game and benches Cienfuegos shows his stupidity for the game! "El pesqadito" is the only player who's kept the Galaxy afloat. Still, to better utilize your forwards and make their job easier to score goals you still need midfielders who can create plays and feed through balls on target. You can't do this by feeding airballs to them all the way back from your defenders!

Sigi, you suck and you'll notice your game attendance dropping when people realize that the product you put out on the field is NOT EFFECTIVE NOR ENTERTAINING!

Is it the mid-week travel? Is it too early in our seson for teams to be in top shape? Is it the altitude -- or the attitude?

I kinda admire the way Mets fans shrug off losing their home opener to the Cubs, 15 - 2. For them its still a long season, with many peaks and valleys.
For us it's different. LA's loss might be considered respectable, but it is a home loss, and it just about cuts them out of the Championship, barring a miracle in Mexico. Columbus' loss is like Kevin Kline doing HAMLET in London -- and forgetting his lines. It's beyond embarrassing; beyond redemption.

I suggest it is courting disaster for MLS teams to enter these championships with the very limited rosters we have. A few injuries or family crises -- whatever -- and suddenly you are starting your bench against very keen competition, and you have no reserves.

    How's the weather in Europe?

Any embarrassment is ours, not yours. But it's kind of you to offer us advice about what we should and should not do. Europe is good at that.

seriously, I don't see Arsenal offering to play any friendlies against MLS teams. why? because they're scared. Scared that they'll have to face a certain man that some people like to call "Zach" and others like to call "Thornton." When you're ready to step it up a level and play Chicago, we'll be waiting for you... behind the Starbucks... in Naperville....

Arsenal doesn't play friendlies against MLS teams because there is no point playing crap hacky teams that are so terrible they get blown out by second rate Mexican teams and will break a player's leg for no good reason.

Tommy Soehn pulled a muscle in the match between Derby County and the Fire back in... what was that, '99?

And for the love of God, people: it was just two matches. If Mexican fans are making fun of us at all, it's only because our whiners are just flooding websites with retarded messages rather than doing something really useful, like offing themselves in shame.

I think it was Chulis went in with a bad tackle on (i think) Cordone. The newcastle player was stretchered off and then was out for a coupld months.

Spurs do. They're coming over for a rematch with DC. I'm sure Stoitch will be on his best behavior. He may just watch; he wasn't on the team last time out, and probably won't be needed in the rematch.

Or Arsenal could just make up a US tour like ManU, ignore MLS, and pick some patsies to join them in a fashion show.

Socccerfan can you read English? As of you making your post there were 6 posters before you. Of those 6, 4 did not mention anything about it being the coaches' fault. However, as I mentioned above the Columbus game makes you "question...why the coach didn't play a closed game...".

I was one of only 2 people before you to mention coaches at all much less culpability.

I'm not really sure what reality you are living in or what www.bigsoccertwilightzone.com/forum you are referring to.

Jeez, I'm glad someone started another thread in this forum about those games. I'm not sure what I would've done with only 14 threads about them.
