.....is the constant crying about Refs. Sure the ref was too involved last night and extremely inconsistent and he may have made a few more bad calls against the Quakes, but not by much. The Crew got some bad calls against them also. The only reason the Quakes lost last night is that they played a better team. Anyone who threw stuff or sprayed liquid at the refs are disgraceful. Seriously.....does SJPD deserve that crap. That kinda crap was shameful and embarrassing.

As I was walking out, we saw that little display from across the field, and I loudly said "************ing idiots." Everyone around looked like they agreed.

Hopefully, fans beat the ************ out of anyone around who was throwing stuff. Not that we need to be losing any season ticket holders, but I hope whoever got caught doing that stuff gets their tix revoked. Punks.

I didn't throw anythang, but you knew it was coming, now i know the frustration it takes to kill a Ref.

Was that the right call, when it looked like Lagos was fouled inside the box, i was on the westside of stade de spartan, he looked like he was fouled inside and outside of the box, but the ref gave advantage, then gave the foul, outside the box, was i pissed for no reason?

    "the referee is a scapegoat"

it was his fault there was no creativity up front...
it was his fault that the center of the pitch was a pool table....
it was his fault that Cunningham & Buddle are Quakekillers...

Agreed, soccer is a hard enough sell in this country without this kind of behavior, what's next, a riot with some trampled people?

Lagos was fouled outside the box, the ref let play go to see if Lagos would develop an advantage, Lagos fell and the ref gave Lagos the original call. I thought the ref was right.

PS- I was proud of the chant "The Referee Sucks!" It was the first time the whole place chanted in unison without the blue crew holding up a sign....except for an occasional weak "Beat LA" chant last weekend that wasn't nearly as loud with waaaay more people. For a fairly small crowd, they were very vocal last night.

you guys didnt get to watch the match on tv.

if youre referring to the play i think you are, the crew player tugged on lagos' shirt, he was given the advantage call, continuted to run into the box (crew player released his hold), and fell on his own, trying to get a pk call. it was a total dive.

This is true. Because there's a camera in front of our row, there's a monitor that shows the away team's broadcast. We saw the replays. He appeared to fall on his own the second time.

where was the yellow/red card for fouling in a position when Lagos had a clear goal scoring opportunity? He was in front of Denton and headed straight for the box. Instead, Agoos, the captain, gets the card for dissent. As for Donovan have you ever seen Michael Owen get tossed around and hacked like Donovan does? no, or if you do, the person who does it gets a card, and then it stops. Instead, Landon gets called for shoulder charges and standing while getting clobbered.

There were so many bad calls in that match the ref deserved to be yelled at and while SJPD didn't deserve to have beer thrown on them, those of us who pay our hard earned money have the right to express our displeasure with the product that we paid to see, and the ref last night, unfortunately, was too much a part of bad product.

Honestly, with the way Agoos was acting like a two year old after that call, you should be thanking the ref since he didn't red card him.

Hey corky....did you even read my post, I said it was the right call. Quit trying to make something from nothing. Lagos wasn't the only one trying to embellish out there....I don't know who is a worse actor....Oughton or Busch. Oughton should take limping classes, he should have been shown the yellow for the worst fake limp ever.

That was the telemundo reporter. She actually shoved the cops out of the way to get in the refs face.

    She rocks!!!

I didn't see it. Security told me that she had shoved the cops out of the way and they had to step in. I laughed my ass off when I heard that! Good for her!!!

I thought you guys were pissed off when people were attacking the ref after the game. ;)

Lagos did not dive. He was fouled outside the box, but he didn't dive.

He WAS fouled and he DID embellish once he was in the box. To me a dive is when a guy drops like he was shot when he wasn't even fouled.....like Luis Hernandez in the WC. Embellishing is what Lagos did and what Donovan does. This sometimes can erase a foul altogether because it looks so dramatic that the ref thinks the whole thing is fake. The Donovan "leg drag" is notorious for this. In my opinion, it is alot of the reason legit fouls are not called when Donovan is the victim. It looks fake and dramatic even though it is a foul and the refs get insulted by the acting and wave the play on even though there really was a foul..

It was utterly classless that the fans were throwing things. There is NO excuse for that type of behavior.

True, it was classless,. but come on, get a grip. Have you people ever been to a Mexican game? The doubleheader in August 99 comes to mind. How about when the Salvadoran contingent blew a gasket when the Diaz-Arce combo couldn't score (the first Clash game I came too). And (speaking of the gridiron pros) what about the Raider nation? Given the level of frustration with the referees and the entire season, I don't think it was that bad.

I watched the Telemundo and Univision news at 11. Both showed the cop getting a Coke (Oh, sorry Pepsi is the MLS sponsor) on the back of the head, but I didn't see any attempt by the reporter to speak to the Rt. Hon. Ricardo Salazar. Unfortunate indeed.

It's bad. In any situation. There is absolutely no excuse for physical attacks on player, refs, staff, or fans. It's uncalled for and inexcusable. I could care less what happens at a Mexican game. It is wrong there and it was wrong last night.

The reporter did not attack the refs. She was simply trying to get a comment after that bullfish we saw last night. It's entirely different for a reporter to push her way through to get a comment. My goodness, she's a little lady just shoving her way through a crowd of big men with guns!! I would hardly call that an attack!

What we are pissed about is the physical violence against the refs (or in this case, since it missed, the cops).
