Kevin Keegan always made me dream as a player and still does. What a character ! Haven't see him play live. During my era, he was the coach of Newcastle with David Ginola under his wing.

I began following the sport around 1977 thanks to an old PBS program, "Soccer Made In Germany".

Even though I became a fan of 1. FC Köln through that show, Keegan was very much my favorite player.
His time at Hamburg was my introduction to him. Never seen footage of him with Liverpool until the 80s.

As great a player he was with Liverpool, many felt he only became better during his spell in the Bundesliga.
This thinking was boosted by his winning the European Footballer of the Year award (aka Ballon d'Or) twice, in 1978 and 1979.
His '78 award is all the more impressive considering England hadn't qualified for Argentina '78, so his resume was mainly based on his performances with Hamburg.
I was disappointed when he decided to leave HSV at the end of his contract in 1980.

I see many people on the internet saying Bellingham was England best ever midfielder because of what he did in the world cup or that Kane was the greatest England player of all time already despite him being a big flop in so many semis and finals for England, Spurs and Bayern and hasn't won anything noteworthy either, they are two overrated player for me when compared to actual great legend like Keegan.

Kane needs to win an international trophy with England or winning a champions league with him being the main man all the way through the final for him to be in the discussion with the top 5 english players I listed above and as for Bellingham it's still too early to call him the best/greatest England midfielder ever, way too early and really it's nothing more than an overreaction because of the world cup and all. They need to do more as simple as that!
