To all the BS chicken littles (and to everyone else): Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha Don't you just love the ironies of soccer? I do! It's one of the major reasons the game is so pervasively attractive. The most likely teams can lose any given game and the least likely team can win.
And finally, it happened at an ideal time -- on a Sunday afternoon with no other big TV competition, and both ESPNs filled with soccer, with lots of goals scored, and absolutely breathless drama down to the wire. ~ Perfect. ~
I guess the Soccer Gods felt sorry for us for screwing us over in the first two matches with those stupid red cards, and decided to send us through.
Indeed. At the 3Crow bar, the atmosphere was great. It was known that both scorelines HAD to be 3-0. When it happened, it was awesome. ESPN will probably scoff at this in SportsCenter, however.
Then I'd suggest making peace with whatever god you're put your money on, because the US is advancing to the semi-finals over Italy and the end times are near.
