It's great to see the Revs get some respect around the league. They deserve it. Many of the the Fire players, on the other hand, don't deserve any respect, and neither does Bob Bradley. What a bunch of diving whiners! And Beasley is becoming a master of the cheap shot. Fire fans deserve better than what they got this year. I was impressed with the way Twellman keep his cool even though the Ref missed several fouls. Didn't whine; just got up and went away. [Unlike the whining crybaby Nowak.] Also Joey kept his cool when he was given a yellow card on Hristo's dive just outside the box. Even Heaps held back (for the most part) after being stomped on by Razov. Compare that with the Fire's antics. Thank goodness the best team won.
take a lesson from the rev's players...you guys won....more than a few fire fans have offered their congrats on your board.... accept it graciously, and don't insult the fire players...even though it may contain some truth this is one of the few games that franchino hasn't acted up....seems like nicol has the players' attention.
You have to act with class to get class treatment. You've taken some cheap shots. I've watched plenty of MLS this year and I've seen plenty of whining by players on ALL the teams. Don't point a finger. There are three more pointing back at you. FWIW I really hope Columbus or NE go on to win this thing. Their fans deserve some hardware.
let me get this straight... you are asking for respect when you refuse to give respect to the man that is pretty much deemed the best coach in all of mls??? you want respect yet you consider beasely to be a cheap shot artist??? you want respect because you think hristo dove??? when franchino, by accounts of REV FANS, was lucky to have not gotten a red on that play as he was arguably the last man and was beaten... they showed enough replays that it was foul, i have no problem with it being a yellow (i would have taken a red though)... it was a good foul too, that probably would have been a goal (and 1-1), although with the way adin was playing, who knows you think the ref missed calls??? in a pretty damn clean game, hard fought, but clean... outside of razov's stupidity at the end... and no, that wasn't missed heaps held back because he just got kicked in the groin you want respect but you clearly have not the ability to go the other way... respect is a two way street myself and several others came spefically over to the rev forum to offer congratulations on a good game, the revs deserved to win... it was hard fought but clean, outside of the red card to ante all you are doing by saying you disrespect those people is making yourself sound like a fool
Congratulations to the Revolution and their fans, but especially congratulations to Danny Hernandez. I do not know what DH is going through personally (though to me it does look like something IS going on), but in 2002 I feel like he was mistreated by OZ, Nick, the Metros, and some (maybe most) of the Metros' fans. I am happy for him and his role in the Revs' success. Good Luck
"all you are doing by saying you disrespect those people is making yourself sound like a fool" Utter nonsense.
No. I'm afraid it's not. It looks an awful lot like gloating, and when you have to stretch the facts to make yourself feel better... well, it's not a sign of health, either.
what jmeisson said. objectively.....i was watching the game with a buddy and we both took note at how easily beasely brings the ball out from the back....just passing by players...where most other mls'ers have to pass it back and forth once or twice before they boot it up field..... beasley is a great player...if he is allowed to concentrate on his position only, without tracking back and covering for defenders and supplementing the forwards, he would've been much more effective (see US team).... now if you want to take cheap shots at billy walsh, by all means.... but i also think the ref called a fair game...let the players play.....no really big fook ups that decided the game....the foul on hristo, if it was a foul, should have been carded....but it can be interpreted that hristo embellished the contact....and a younger player would've stayed on his feet....regardless...the result was fair and adin had a fantastic game.... if razov wouldn't have shot at every small opportunity, i feel the fire would've scored a goal or two...when he had a chance to pass, he didn't. all this is off subject.... be gracious of the wins and losses (again, see US team)....
NE fans deserve nothing. Under 7000 for the playoffs. Yeah, PATHETIC. Columbus dersves it. Fortunately, they are a better team now. Home field is worth a lot, though. Even if no one shows up.
Agreed. The Revolution squard deserves a great deal of respect, no doubt there. But there are several Revolution fans on these boards of late who deserve no such honor. But hey, at least you spelled it right.
Be gentle with the NE fans. They have never been here before so if some don't know how to act, its to be expected. Apart from everything else, no fans (well, maybe Metros) have given so much support to an MLS club with so little to show for it. So, cut them some slack.
cheap shots on BigSoccer?? Dear god, what is this world coming to? cut him some slack. the revs have never had a reason to gloat before, and he's still approaching the situation as the underdog. meanwhile, the rest of the eastern conference is just a bit red in the face for letting the revs climb into first at season and is naturally touchy about it. this isn't as bad as going on the fire board and posting this, which frankly i wish he had done. i do have to disagree about bradley, though. he should've earned any fan's respect by this point.
Excuse me Ben...isn't that about 4999 more than the KC season average? [thinly veiled irony]BTW, I've been looking through the attendance figures and it seems like the second game of every series drew more fans. Boy, this sure is weird. Can someone help me figure this out..?[/thinly veiled irony]
Re: Re: R-e-s-p-e-c-t Steve found a new way to try and get Joey to control his behavior. He named Franchino team captain. It's been fairly successful.
