    Surinam 0-0 Guyana at halftime.

Grenada-Costa Rica up in 10 minutes. Grenadian radio has cricket so looks like no English broadcast. Gonzalo Segares getting a start for the Ticos.

Modeste scores for Grenada in the 17th minute...and then Andre Charles makes a big save just after the restart to keep them ahead.

Suriname goes ahead 1-0 on a goal by Sandvliet early in the second half.

Holy shit. I mean, I knew Costa Rica was in bad shape with Medford, but wow. I expected a very close game, maybe a draw, but this is just amazing. You could kinda see it coming, I guess, because of how Medford basically lowered expectations for the match. Also since they haven't won in forever.

CR lucky not to concede a penalty, according to the announcers.

    CR broadcast is here:
http://www.columbia.co.cr/audio.asp and click on the En Vivo links on the right of the screen.

Grenada puts on the pressure after the CR goal but can't get their third before halftime.

I had this matchup circled based on the recent results Costa Rica has had and the two big names Grenada has.

    FT Surinam 1-0 Guyana

Dutch is beyond me but the announcer was saying the name of the Surinam goalie a lot near the end.

Group 3 could end up being weaker than anyone ever imagined. Grenada, Suriname/Guyana, Panama and Haiti for 2 spots in the Hex? Imagine if El Salvador manages to upset Panama and/or Netherlands Antilles knocks out Haiti. Meanwhile Honduras, Canada and Jamaica all get stuck together.

This is exactly why the draw for the semi-finals needs to be done AFTER the second round is over.

If Costa Rica can't get past Granada, the group wouldn't have been much stronger to begin with.

Ricky Charles sent off a couple minutes into the second half for a foul on Badilla...I think that's a straight red.

Damn there goes Grenada's chances of getting more goals...maybe they can hold the score so they can enter Costa Rica with a positive GD.

I think he was talking in a traditional sense, with the big names since costa rica has always been one of the powers of the region.

I hadn't. I've already penciled them into 1st spot, leaving the rest of us fighting for a spot. It's hard to believe that Mexico won't find a way through. Even if they faltered, CONCACAF wouldn't let them get eliminated (see Canada vs Mexico circa 1993).

Fonseca on for Segares as CR looks for goals with the extra man.

I agree, i also think they will get through but i'm not so sure about penciling them in for a 1st spot just yet. Canada and honduras have been playing real good lately.

Point taken. They might not top the group, but they will advance.

Did anyone catch what the red card was for?

Did Roberts miss a chance there? The announcer sounded like he almost had a heart attack.
