An annoying and bitter way to end a halfway decent season.

I hope some of the Metro players say thanx to the traveling ESC after the whistle....

That would require them coming out of the locker room. They didn't do that 90 minutes ago, so why bother now?

Wouldn't it have been funny if Cancela had blown his ACL when he fell there?

    Yeah.

Fuck this. The Metro penchant for leaving us all with a bad taste in our mouth at the end of a season continues unabated.

    Probably.

Who cares. Not me right now - maybe later I will. I was pretty prepared to get beat, but tonight we showed all the balls of Il *#*#*#*#ing Castrato.

I didn't think we would win the cup at the begininng of the season
and if you would have asked me would I take a season where I knew that :
    1) We would at least make the playoffs
    2) develop at least 3 young players for the future
    3) be better than last year and make a cup run
I would have signed up for it in a second.
So, even the loss blows, and has me upset, the season by far was not a bust.

All true, just that I'm not in much of a mood to be contented right now.

The only stats you really need to look at are these:

    SHOTS
    Metro: 11, NE: 11

    SHOTS ON GOAL:
    Metro: 3, NE: 5

We're down 2-0 aggregate, with a 3-4-3 with all our offensive players except fkking NUGENT on the field, and we don't even manage to outshoot our opponent? Not to mention the myriad chances NE had on the counter that didn't result in shots.

I expected NE to come out hard for the 1st goal, but they had the run of play ALL FKKING match. They didn't need to play for the counterattack, because we were doing NOTHING offensively.

What a ridiclous way to lose. Bob really blew it this game. When you play with 3 forwards and no real wingers in the midfield, you're just asking the other team to bunch up in the middle and force us to play long ball. Which is exactly what happened. Yes, we were down 2-0, and YES, we needed an offensive spark. But that starting XI smacked of absolute desperation, like we were down 3 or 4 goals instead of 2.

Hopefully, they got so tanked on the way there they didn't feel the cold or the loss.

What a disappointment... but what can you do when the offense can't find the net!!!! We need some REAL goalscorers next season...

I wasn't going to troll here, but based on a tip from the Rev board, I couldn't resist. You sir, are the lowest of the low. There is nothing I wish upon you that would be better than death itself. I hope you die in a flaming car accident after being impaled on a rusty pole.

You talk about bad sportsmanship from Mathis, take the effing plank out of your eye before you start to work on Mathis' splinter.

    Go to hell, troll.

The PbP thread generally isn't for the faint of heart or for being nice and gracious and all classy-like. It would take someone genuinely and completely obtuse - and you've stepped right up to the plate on that one, 'Prof' - to take whatever's said here seriously.

But leave it to the Soccer Smiles morons from the ass-end of New England to not get that. Sigh.

Meet your own petard, retard. Only you sound a bit more, um, obsessed about it.

And yes, I'm pissed that we lost, though not surprised. Now fuck off this board.
