My sister's family is going to be moving to NYC this summer, new jobs. It appears they'll be living in the Bronx area, but they haven't determined exactly where yet. The whole family is very much into playing soccer. I play coed rec with my sister and brother-in-law, along with men's competitive with my brother-in-law. They organize essentially all of the youth soccer leagues in their small community while also volunteer coaching for both the girls and boys high school teams. Both my niece (9) and nephew (11) play on a few different teams. What is the soccer scene going to be like for them? Are there afford rec leagues for the kids? Thanks!
There were some clubs in the Bronx years ago like Rapid, Scorpians and an italian club who played in the Cosmopolitian Junior soccer league. I think they are all gone. However there are some that play out of the bronx in the westchester Youth soccer league. Check it out http://www.wyslsoccer.org/Clubs/index_E.html If adults check out Cosmpolitian soccer league and possibly Westchester soccer league. Good luck
I thought the cosmopolitan league was in Brooklyn (Brooklyn Knights, GH Metro, etc..). And a good club to play for near the Bronx woul be FC Westchester.
I thought the cosmopolitan league was in Brooklyn (Brooklyn Knights, GH Metro, etc..). And a good club to play for near the Bronx woul be FC Westchester. Cosmopolitian junior soccer league is all over the place except in the Bronx that is where he said he is moving to. Some teams in the CJSL are in Brooklyn. Funny thing is the brooklyn Knights are not even in brooklyn anymore they are in Queens go figure? GH Metro is in Queens not Brooklyn. Both GH Metros and Brooklyn knights play their games in Queens at the same field Met Oval. The problem at least it was a problem in the Past is GH Metros have no or very few teams in the A division. Because of that they don't get good players. FC Westchester was a very good boys youth soccer club in the Westchester soccer league and they are located in Westchester not the Bronx. Hope that clears everything up.
Yeah, I'm just going off of memory from what my dad told me(he used to play in the met oval). And I was just saying that Fc Westchester is close to the Bronx, not in the Bronx. Thanks though.
Play a game at met oval you are a real NY player. You can not consider yourself a NY player if you never played a game there.
