Sorry, I know non-Fire fan here. Do you play in-game noises and baseball-style organ chants during the run of play at Fire home games? I've always felt the noises added at production of Wizards games take the fans attention away from the game, which stifles appreciation of the game. When we played your organization in the Lamar Hunt USOC (We still love Lamar and all he's done regardless), there were no noises played at all IIRC. Was this because MLS (HSG) did not technically put on the game? I thought it created a much more intimate atmosphere, and helped at least make Arrowhead seem a little less cavernous. After seeing what a 12k condensed Arrowhead felt and looked like last Friday against LA, could you maybe make some suggestions to our FO about how to replicate your dedicated following and in-game atmosphere?
Mr. Wilt, Will you be sad to see Puma leave your wonderful organization after '05? Also, regardless of the adidas deal and all the money it will bring to MLS, do you like the idea of all 12 clubs wearing the same type of uniform, that being adidas? Thanks, Marchetti
they will be addidas uniforms... but they won't be the same mold and different colors relax... it won't be that bad and the league did a good job in throwing all the teams together to get one hell of a deal
On the 3.0 thread Khan asked how jamar beasley was doing indoor. Since jamar won the MISL rookie of the year last year I guess you can safely say he is doing well.
He was also recently selected for the US National Team for the Futsal World Cup later this month in Taiwan. peter
It has been great being Puma's sole MLS team. They have given us accommodations that other teams have not received from their supplier. They have good people who care about soccer and worked with the Fire and our supporters to be a good partner. i think the adidas question was aptly addressed above. peter
Any chance you might bring in Chris Carrieri next year for a tryout? He seemed to create some chances in the few minutes he played in the last home game we had.
Will you be naming one of the stands for Oak Park Bob, just to see if he suffers a stroke? Sorry, slow day at work here.
Peter, In another thread, we're wondering what you feel is the number one void to fill, player-wise, for next year. We're altering the new-era Bush press conference rules, and would like to limit you to one answer. No hedging! You've probably read what the debate is between, but if not, try not to look over there first. Later, COZ
left back and a quality playmaker are both important. Left back won't cost as much to upgrade. Budget and player availability will dictate whether we upgrade one or both. peter
Is HONDA going to be the jersey sponsor for 2005? Getting to new jersey with name, number and sponsor logo on it, need to know if HONDA is the jesery sponsor.
WHAT?!?!?!?!?! I thought Orlando Perez was the best left back in the world. I don't know how you could find an upgrade. Even Roberto Carlos would be a step down from the multi-talented Perez.
Thanks, I forget to add will the numbers and names be the same also. Numbers with MLS logo on the bottom of the number and the font for the names. Will it be the red HONDA logo or the white HONDA logo on the blue jersey's. In in the future will we be able to order the jersey's with number, name and sponsors logo from MLSGEAR or CHICAGO FIRE. Is Addidas going to make the jersey for 2006 or is this a one time thing. Thanks for answering my questions.
I am just curious Peter, how much lighter is your workload during the offseason? Do you get any significant time to yourself? When does the stress of player scouting, the draft, staffing issues, arranging the pre-season schedule etc, hit? I know with the stadium currently in the works, there's always something, but during a normal cycle, when and how much pure play time do you get?
Peter, From everything I have read and people I've spoken to, Saturday's game was one of the best I have ever seen in the history of MLS. A very entertaining and exciting game with an atmosphere reminiscent of high level European/South American matches (I also liked the fact there were no football lines on the field). Did you see the game and what were your impressions?
Peter, It's been about 14 years since Soccer Digest did an article about you and Jim Carabin being the up an coming management hot shots in soccer. At that time where did you think you would be in 10 years, where did you think that professional soccer was going in this country? Where would you like to see yourself in 10 years?
Peter, I recently read that we conceded 8 of the 30 Goals of the Week this year. I guess I kinda knew this in my gut, but reading the number was a bit shocking. Have you given this any thought as to why this is the case? Were we targeted as the 'team to beat'? Is it an indication of a weakness in defense or goalkeeping? Or, on the other hand, does this statistic suggest that some of those points left on the table were taken by freakish bad luck? Just curious...
