You need underfield heating to play in the summer in Chicago. :)

I'm pretty sure PW mentioned it.

But, hey, you can ask him all the stadium questions you want when you come to the fundraiser next Thursday (6-10p, SmallBar in Wicker Park 2049 W Division)

    :D

Any plans for loud noises and broken water heaters in the visitor's locker rooms?

Hey Peter, how tight is security going to be when the stadium is closed? Will there be any security cameras? Will the under-field heating system be on when the stadium is closed? If some hypothetical fan and their significant other were to "christen" the center circle, would that be a misdemeanor or a felony? Would it make a difference if it were before or after the home opener?

We're getting a lot of BULLSH_T posts again in this thread can we keep it to legitimate questions so Peter doesn't have to wade through so many replies.

Or just close this thread altogether and tell people to just ask him in person next week during 8Fest at SmallBar. :D

Even though this post seems to violate some important decorum around here, I just wanted to say that I have laughed my ass off at it.

So was that a "yes" to the heating system? Any word on a gate? Im thinking a gate could be constructed with bricks bearing names of contributors. A few hundred bucks a brick to be immortalized in the new Firehouse seems like a nice idea.

Peter, will the first row of seats have metal railings in front of them like you see at Crew Stadium? I think that metal railings are better than a cement wall like you have at the Home Depot Center. The railings make it easier for fans to tie banners and flag's off of.

    Peter,
how close to the field will the stands be? I heard that the stands will omly be a few feet off the ground, but have not heard about how close. I was watching the Everton-Liverpool match over the weekend and it was totally cool to see how the Everton players were interacting with the fans on throw ins and corners. I think it would work in the MLS. (we don't have Ron Artest playing for us)

Watching the EPL on FoxSportsWorld makes me wonder will our stadium have one of those flying overhead camera angles set ups?

Is the webcam of the construction site something that is likely to be installed soon, or is this a "down the road" kind of thing?

It would probably draw some decent webtraffic during the offseason.

I know I would check it out pretty regularly.

Are the Fire more loved than the Blackhawks in Chicago? Just curious guys.

    Who knows these days.
I think the difference is any love for the Blackhawks goes unrequited.
They have just plain crapped on their fan base for so long.

Although except for the Fire the owners of sports franchises in this town are generally loathed, none is more hated and deservedly so, than Dollar Bill Wirtz.

    Speaking of hockey....

I'd like to hear what our GM's thoughts are about the strike...

    Oh yeah...the hockey one too.
