debatable. but you didn't answer the question. you were asked who IS the world's best. you said about hope:
A matter of opinion, certainly not common knowledge. I point to Solo against Brazil at 2008 Olympics, Solo against Sweden at 2009 Algarve Cup, Solo's great save against Norway at 2009 Algarve Cup, Solo's point blank save against Hanks in Sky Blue playoff game 2009, Solo's two pk saves in regulation against Iceland at Algarve 2010, etc., etc., etc. Also compare results of both USA and Germany against China, for instance, over the period 1999-2007. Germany surrendered 3 or more goals to China four times from 1999-2002, each with either Angerer or Rottenberg in goal. By contrast, the US met China 20 times from 1999 through 2007 and never once surrendered more than two goals to China, and only three times surrendering as many as two. But then my knowledge is limited, so I'm not technically qualified to render an opinion.
Is it true that the Beat have signed 2 more college players? As Posted by DimitriMaximoff on Main WPS Thread The Off-Season (transactions etc ).
The signings have been reported by both Cal and Memphis' sites, but not by the Beat as of yet. Open tryouts this weekend. Maybe the Beat will actually sign a goalkeeper soon!
Hey, Crazy Old Lady, grab your boots and head over. Then you can give the rest of us a good story on the genius that is Coach Galanis
According to what I have read (if it is indeed true), it might not be a bad idea! My posed question is: What if Hope sits out the season?
All I'm saying is a read it is very much a possibility that she will sit the season out. I hope that she wouldn't but I really rule out that she would either.
I will, if y'all will push my Wheelchair, because my Walker gets caught up in the turf. Am waiting to see what the final Team is and how cohesive they are as a unit before I make any further comment. At least that is my good intention for now.
I heard either Philly or TAFKAT Washington Freedom were also interested in Solo. Could we possibly see an Ellertson-McLeod swap with Solo going to the Fightin' Borislows? Wait, that trade is unlikely since it doesn't involved a draft pick.
That's what I'm hearing now. I could see them coughing up McLeod, but I'm not too sure about Ellertson.
Well, Solo's now a Borislow if Ryan Wood's tweet is accurate. I'm just basing my Ellertson prognostication based on what soccerreigns has been saying about Ellertson being gone. Can't really see the Borislows keeping Solo and McLeod with both being gone for the World Cup, so I'm guessing McLeod gets moved on.
Oh that's my error. I was assuming she had already "officially left." I hope she stays. I assume ATL's "cutting of one of it's arms," slimming down to cut costs, to keep them around for a while.
my understanding is ellertson was free to sign with any club....had not been signed by atlanta yet...so i don't htink their was a trade involved with ellertson, but not positive
I'm not sure about that. Ellertson was on the protected list at the time of the expansion draft and to be on the protected list, I think you had to be under contract. Now that doesn't mean she wasn't waived or given a release later.
