Why is that African players who are most often more skilled and talented than their European counter parts are payed less? Discuss

this ought to be a very interesting post. i'm looking forward to reading the replies.

(i wish i had better access to "soccer" news so i could post a bit more, but the damn us isn't very accomodating. we have billiards and strong man competitions on everyday, but they can't seem to fit in any football. well, there's an epl match on twice a week, but they are from the week before. <--how dumb is that?)

because they sign contracts that award them smaller wages.

True interesting topic but so many different possible answers, such as:
Relative money values are different (ie what is a large wage to one person isn't to another)
Poor agents who cream off a percentage and don't worry too much about the "real" value for the player
The players want to earn for their families/relatives to raise their own standard of living and so take a price (ie not realising their own value or scared at losing their chance)

    and so on....

This is so true of many things but the real "big-earners" in Europe are, I'm glad to say, not just average euro players but are African, South American etc and this has been much improved since African football raised its profile more and has had success internationally such as Nigeria, Senegal and Cameroon...

I think it's the rules of the leagues that restrict foreigners. If there were an open market the Africans would do a lot better.
