Hello all. Now I know i've been a bit of an asswipe here on the boards lately. I've been picking on all my fellow metrofans. Hell, i've been picking on my damn grandma lately. Let's just say i haven't been in the best of moods now for say, uh, the past year. Anyways, my apologies, but I will have to poke you one last time. Tell me. Why only now do you choose to say that Nick Sakiewicz is a jerkoff? He's been a jerkoff since day one, but he was always considered a hero for 'turning things around'. But he's always been an egotistical meathead. He has ALWAYS made assinine statements like the ones we are reading now. He has ALWAYS been a ego-driven bully with little smarts or class. So why is it that when you were told this, you brushed it off? Said "hey, he's winning... more than Charlie ever did.". I know you've spoken with former Metro employees that quit shortly after Nick was hired. I KNOW you've spoken with them. I've spoken to everyone you've spoken to and more. I had what i'll call a 'high ranking MLS executive' say to me - and this is an exact quote - "Michael, Nick Sakiewicz is a classless idiot". You know, I just saw 'Heat' last night with Pacino and DeNiro. There's a scene where DeNiro is talking to a guy who has all the plans to rob a bank. DeNiro is like "where'd you get all this?" The guy says, "It's all over the place, you simply have to reach up and grab it." The news about nick has always been there. Why do you now choose to drill him? HE HAS NOT CHANGED SINCE HIS TAMPA BAY YEARS. People warned me from the beginning about the guy. Same people that probably warned you, if you're the type that cares to listen to such things. It got to the point where all people talked about was all the horrible things about Nick. Nick did this. Nick is like this. NIck is a jerk. He's a prick. He's an idiot. He inflates attendances. He throws his laptop across the room if he gets mad. He has sex with his secretary. He sneaks hookers into Giants stadium by dressing them as security guards. He gets loaded after each game, and will badmouth his own players loudly at the bar. Blah, blah blah blah, blah blah.... it got to the point where I said STOP. I don't even want to hear it anymore. All anyone talked about was what a satan nick sakiewicz was. So i decided I was going to stop listening to others, and make my own opinion. I started the "Nick Sakiewicz is a Goddamn Friggin' Genious" website. Simply designed to get his goat. It worked, and soon I caught wind that he was fuming over it. I called up the MetroStars and gave them my phone number so that he could call me and say what he had to say. He called, and threatened a lawsuit. By the end of the conversation, we were laughing with each other. I'm not going to tell you what i was able to do to change him from hating me to being amiable towards me. But during that process, that phone call, I was so horribly disgusted, so terribly disappointed, so appauled at the personality at the other end of the line. You see, I changed his opinion of me during that phone call because i pooled all the information i had gathered about him, how he reacts to certain situations, etc, and made a character study of him. I made educated guesses as to how he'd react if I said this in a certain tone, or if I said something else. During that phone call, each of my guesses was correct. I played it perfectly, and totally changed his attitude and character. I am not a psychiatrist, nor a studier of psychology. I got a 1050 on the SAT's and that was after the Princeton Review. I don't consider myself intelligent. Put two and two together to discover what's going on behind the desk in Secaucus. I can now call up Nick and leave a message for him to call me back, and he will call back and say "HI MICHAEL! How have you been???" After i completely railed him on my old website. After posting many a message saying he's a cancer that infects and oppresses the entire team mentality. After posting this message. That phone call left me so bewildered, so absolutely disgusted with humanity and the MLS, that I simply had no choice but to like the man. I have absolutely no ill will towards him at all anymore. Yes, he is a cancer, and yes, he is a fool. But I like the guy. Why? For all the reasons everyone hates him. Nick Sakiewicz is an egomaniac and a bully to protect the fact that he is a hurt little 5 year old that was probably beat to death by his strict dad, or had his lights knocked out each day at school. How could such a man be so successful in business? Because he put career success above all other things, including morality and integrity. What did that lead to? Two Executive of the Year awards and reigns to the flagship franchise in a major athletic league. After a lifetime of being told "work hard, and be good, and success will follow", I'm a little confused. I like Nick because he proves that the system is F'ed up. Not the MetroStars. Not MLS. The system. Humanity. Everything is F'ed up. There is no organization to anything. There is no reward for being good. Hell, the ones who preach being good have sex with young boys. The other day, I rented out a gay porn to an in-uniform priest. He just walked in in full garb, walked up to the counter with a box with a nice hairy muscle-bound stud massaging his package, said hello, and gave me $5. I made light conversation with him, like i do with everyone. He showed no signs of guilt, no signs of going against the rules of his religion. You know what? I smiled, and kept smiling as he left the store. Now imagine the Catholic who prays every day. Says her rosaries. Goes to church every sunday. Think she'd be upset to know that the human symbol of her entire view on the world doesn't even follow the rules? Probably. She'd probably be even more upset if she found traces of gay priest spunk on the body of christ as he delicates places it on her tongue. I love that priest. LOVE the guy. He comes in, and we talk all the time. He is the symbol of what I've known and felt for so long. Behind our illusion of organization, there is chaos. We know nothing. Behind all our computers, our toasters, our stoplights, our complex mathematical equations, and our skyscrapers, we know nothing, and can to nothing to change it. We have no idea what's going on. When we try to organize, we F it up. I love that priest. He symbolizes everything that "F'ed up" represents. Oh, back to Nick. We all have our blueprint of how a soccer league should run. The GM does this, does that. Does it well, does the best he can. Maybe he makes a mistake? No matter, just as long as he tries hard. We all live with the childlike innocent thought that MLS is headed in the right direction, heading down the straight and narrow. That it knows what it's doing. That it's not on the brink of collapsing. But deep down we know that's not true. Forget MLS.... to me, Nick symbolizes all that is wrong with how BUSINESS is run. So many people put so much energy into learning and studying to get a good job. So many people want to help. So many people go into situations with innocent honest NEW ideas. YOUNG people's ideas. And they run into the OLD way. They run into the world that humanity has established. They find people like Nick at the top of the ladder, not because he's a quality human being, but because he gets RESULTS. Because results and money matter more than morality and integrity. And those with youth, along with their innocence, along with their dreams, slowly fade away, and become the middleaged burnout who push out a few kids so that they can grow up and the same cycle can happen all over. So yes, I love Nick. I've told Nick that I'm probably the only person that likes him. Of course, I like him because he is the perfect example of the system imploding in on itself. The perfect example of how humanity simply has its priorities totally backwards. We cut down the rain forests, although we need them to survive. I love seeing those loggers cutting down the rain forests. Proof. Proof of our stupidity. I guess I really don't care about what your answer to my question is. Guess I just wanted to vent about NIck, and life in general. I suppose I vent to you, because you deserve to have frustration taken out on you. You are the masses who have bought into the system. You just care if they win. In my childlike view of the world, I'd like to see a NICE person as the GM. A NICE person as the coach. GOOD HUMAN BEINGS throughout the organization and on the field. But that's not what i've found. Nick we know about. OZ we know about. What about the players? Trust me, I know so much sick crap about the players that you'd vomit. It has to do with inflated images of themselves, and being told they were god's gift to the sport since early childhood. You tend to buy into the myth. Ben Olsen for example. I know the man's entire life. The man disgusts me. I was going to motivate myself to go to one of the DC/Metro games this year, just to yell things at him just to see his head turn... and to understand who's mouth it was all coming out of. But in the end i just didn't care. He's a good soccer player. Produces results. Scores goals. Good solid personality and conscience? Respectable human being? An adult that has matured past the age of 6 or 7? No, no, and no. But he scores goals. He stays. But maybe that's just my fault.... I hero worship. I think professional athletes are good people because they're on TV and play good. By the way, I love Ben Olsen too. He's up there with Nick and my priest friend. You buy into it all. Everyone does i guess. Not like I'm any better. I just rattle authority every so often. A rebel. Maybe I should wear a leather jacket to school tomorrow. Wait! I just realized why i initially posted this. I was annoyed at all of you. I wanted to tell you all to shut up about Nick and stop complaining about Octavio, Diallo, Mathis, etc etc etc. You knew what they were from the beginning but ignored the facts. I guess I can understand though. It's easier to buy into the myth and put all your passion into a ball going into a net, rather than waste it at your dead end jobs. The Game itself is simple enough that your passion will at least be rewarded half the time if your team is .500. The Game is perfect. Simple things are perfect, and soccer is the simplest game ever invented. Kick ball into goal. Let the repressed need for real energy and passion out when that ball goes in the goal. There's a reason why people from crappy countries like Hondorus and Guatemala go so crazy for soccer you know. Forget the reality of chaos. Life for soccer. Passion is rewarded in The Game... at least half the time if your team is .500. How'd you feel at the end of the original planet of the apes? How'd you feel when you finally started to find out your all-knowing parents really didnt' know all? How'd you feel when the twin towers fell? Humanity is as frail and weak as a baby bird. What you know as the World can be destroyed in a second. Your world can literally come crashing down around you. Who built that world? You. You bought into the system. You bought into the world that was created by those before you. Of course, those before you had the ******************s drinking from different water fountains. But hey, the buildings they erected sure looked nice. Your loveable pal, Mike Mejido PS - Forgive the above post. I called my psychiatrist and told him that it's not worth me spending $100 for a 10 minute visit to go see him when he doesn't help me in the least. He replied by saying "I don't believe this conversation serves any purpose, goodbye." Before he could hang up, I begged him to fill one last prescription of Celexa. Since my transplant, in which every single thing that could go wrong DID go wrong, I have been very depressed and have not been able to go without some sort of anti-depressant. I told him if he didn't fill one last prescription to hold me over until i could get some more, I would fall into a deep deep depression. He said "I don't believe this conversation serves any purpose, goodbye." I mentioned to him that he didn't even give me the Celexa as an option, that I did the research behind SSRI's and anti-depressant medications to find out which was the right one for me. He didn't respond, I think he had hung up by that point. By the way, if anyone needs a psychiatrist go to Johan Noordsij in Summit, NJ. Call him up at 908-277-7676. Good man, that Johan.
man, who depressed that hell out of me. good work Questions for you. Has Nick really gotten results? Is this franchise any better because of HIM these last three years? Could a NICE guy bring in a coach that few respect, a front office that people ridicule, players that don't care, and a stadium announcement any day now? Are we better off now?
We liked Nick then because he was a scumbag that was at the helm when a last-place team turned into a dangerous unit that came minutes away from the MLS Cup final. We hate Nick now because he is a scumbag that has destroyed a successful team, the remnants of which didn't even make it to the goddamn playoffs. And the field, along with everything else off the field is a joke, too Plenty of GMs are scumbags, but not every GM oversees a complete collapse of a team and a loss of support from its fans. Same thing with OZ.
I must be older...I couldn't even get through his post. WAY too many words...and I knew it wasn't going anywhere fast...
I think that post is a record for longest post in BS history...interesting read..with some interesting points...though I still think we need a real management group here in nyc
That guy is F'ed UP! Sounds like he's slept w/ both Nick, and Ben Olsen. He know their dirty little secrets.
I was laughing. It was a funny movie.... Wait a minute. Statue of Liberty... THAT WAS OUR PLANET! YOU MANIACS! YOU BLEW IT UP! DAMN YOU! DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!
Something good may come out of this post. When Nick & OZ finally finish reading it, I think they will change their mind about having Clint see a psychiatrist.
