    think of Roma Abramovic?

I think he is a great addition to Chelsea, and its safe to say without him Chelsea would not have gotten as far as it has. I think he has helped Chelsea alot, and I have no problem with him... Any thoughts?

How come meta? I thought he was seen as a traitor by Russians?

Still I would prefer an oligarch to take charge at Loko......:D Be him Russian or not.

I like him. Doesn't always look very happy though, poor fellah. I think he's done a lot for the club, although we were a top 4 club before the Roman era :)

According to the Mail on Sunday Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich says he will pass the club on to his son when he eventually steps down. So it seems like he is going to be around for the duration. So the wonderful relationship has only just begun.

I'm from Russia(Ukraine actually), and i have no problem with RA whatsoever. Just like any owner, he is doing what is best for his team. So, if other team fans keep saying how Chelsea buys everyone, so what. If you have money, whay not, it doesn't make players lees talented or skillful if they were bought for more money. And some players can't be bought, so nothing wrong with RA spending tons of $$$ on our team,

However, how he got that $$$ in Russia, that's a different question. But then again, practically anyone who is rich in any of the countries from the former USSR, has not gotten rich in a legal way. As long as he is not sponsoring terrorists, i don't care how he gets his money.

to ganu - I don't see him as a traitor, he offered to buy Spartak at first, idiots said no. Of course it would be great for him to buy Loko, but he would totally rebuild it and I don't want to see players like Loskov, Khokhlov, Sytchev, Ovchinikov, etc go. On top of that, I doubt Loko would like to be bought.

Blasphemy! Ukraine is not Russia, my friend. You of all people should know that. :) And any self respecting Muscovite has to make that correction.

Hmmm...saved us from Leeds-itis, paid of debts, bought new players, making us an internation brand, bringing in top notch admistrator, top notch coaches, building a world class youth and training center, etc...

I'd say I like him. He is entitled to my first born. "And may their first child be a masculine child."

To be fair, we weren't headed for a Leeds style meltdown. The sale of Gallas would have allowed us to make the Eurobond payment, and we had a good deal of assets (such as the Village) which Leeds did not. We also owned all our players, as opposed to Leeds's brilliant ideas.

Gallas would have saved us short term, but long term?? We had debts in the region of 100GBP that RA immediately paid off. The Village was worth something but I don't think quite that much.

No one said Leeds was ever brilliant. Look at what they got for Harry Kewell.

Abramovich is a thief and a criminal and I hope he gets his comeuppance.

If "comeuppance" is defined as a Chelsea treble, I do too.

    I think he's awesome.

There are a lot of blue-tinted glasses among Blues fans that I know - we were headed for the wall.

I think by "comeuppance" he means, "I hope to f'n hell you guys don't buy Steven Gerrard." Tough luck mate...

I hope for a big brick through his head. As one might've noticed, ill-gotten gains are all too easy to spend. I can understand the attitude of your average Chelsea fan - rich daddy from abroad comes in with loadsa cash to pump into your club, you don't really care where it has come from but it is money that is not his to spend, for it is the money that comes in from Russia's natural resources, for which he paid ********** all...

Rich daddy indeed. It's ok. You can settle for buying the Djimi Traore's of the world.

It was a masterstroke getting Kewell for as little as we got him. Pity about his injury but he is beginnign to recover form.

Djimi Traore has been superb since Benitez took over. And so has Biscan. They were both written off but obviously Rafa knows how to get the best out of his players, for these two put in MoTM performances against Depor and Djim has been consistently superb.

However, not a single player of Liverpool's has outperformed his Chelsea counterpart. Argue all you like, that's the way it is.

By which you of course mean his 2003 form, not his 2001 form.

Seven goals in all competitions--same as Gudjohnsen. Does that count as "outperformed"?
