OK I'm a lil' foggy on the details so please bear with me.... After winning in '99...didn't the majority of the team get a nice chunk o' change from US Soccer with the exception of Lorrie Fair and maybe Tiff Roberts cuz they were still enrolled in UNC... Would a college player still be able to bank that money if that money was deposited in say a trust fund with the stipulation that the money could not be touched until that player exhausted their college eligibility? Did the team get any sort of bonus from last fall for at least winning 3rd place? Millie said that if the team wins gold this summer and if she was on the team...she woulda gotten $100,000 for a bonus...that tidbit of info is in an "Oregon Live" article I linked on the first page of the "Millie" thread. Did the team get any $ from '96 or '00? As it stands now...it's entirely possible that several college players will be in Athens. I'm no expert on college eligibility rules...but that's kind of a raw deal if the college players get hosed on receiving a bonus.
i read in Lorrie's bio somewhere That she gave up a considerable amount of money to return to UNC. I know part of that money would have come from the victory tour, Interviews and US Soccer. The card set that was put out of the 99 victory does not have Lorrie because of the rules. They are allowed a housing subsidize and food money, but I think that is all
