if the Gunners advance to the Carling Cup Final, is the date of 29.02.04 set in stone? I ask because Arsenal is scheduled to play Charlton the day before and I am coming across the pond for my first trip to Highbury.
I can't answer this for certain, but I'm pretty sure that the Charlton match would be moved instead of the Worthless Cup final. Despite its general Worthlessness, I think the final is usually a sellout.
It shouldn't be that difficult, the ticket allocation is more biased to the finalists, than the FA cup.
WOW! Congrats on your 1st trip to THOF! I'm so jealous. My wife said that I she wants me to go and have fun. So either 2004 or 2005, I'm going to London with Arsenal America! Bring home a winner and have fun. London is a great city.
Spot on, Dan. The league match will get moved just like all of the times that the Arsenal/manUre fixture gets rescheduled every year because one or both of the clubs have FA Cup matches and they have to make sure that they aren't playing 3 or more matches in any one week. Speaking of the Arsenal/manUre fixture getting moved around, I hope the Prem reschedules it for a weekday, like they did in the spring of 2002. FSW always throws in the pre-game show for that match on a weekday, and they usually show quite a bit of the post game commentary as well.
true, the Manure fixture is currently set for the last Sunday in March, if both teams are still in the FA Cup and/or CL it'll get moved again. on that topic, it'll be interesting to see if AW keeps playing the youngsters in the Carling Cup.
Yes, the date is "set in stone". It's always on a Sunday now and won't be moved. I just hope that AW picks a strong team to ensure that we get there. With no C/L football in January, my view is, go and get all the trophies you can. Start with this one and end with the European Cup on 26th May. Which is also "set in stone". Also what a memorable date to collect a trophy is a famous way!!!!!!!
