With multiple teams in cities in England, how does one choose their favorite? Like does the part of London you come from determain what team you root for? Or is it a class thing? Age?

When I recently began to follow the sport, I took a liking to Arsenal because they were the team that seemed to be on TV the most. They are an easy team to follow on TV from here in the states.

    Stoke England
I live in Stoke-on-trent England. We have two football teams Stoke city and Port Vale.
there are around 250,000 people live in the area. The larger majority supporting Stoke City.

Why? well beacuse they have alwats beeen the bigger club, played in the top division, won cups at Wembley, had some supoorting heroes play for them.

However when i was born 1976 most of the good times wewre over at Stoke and have slipped out of the premier league and are yet to return.

I support Stoke and not the other ******** because of my dad. he always took me.

I think football is a great leveller it transends class.

I could be stood next to a doctor, a lawyer, or a dustbin man, but they all sing there hearts out for Stoke city on a saturday afternoon.

    Nottingham
It depends on where you were born, who your dad supported as a kid, etc.

I'm a Nottingham Forest fan, in a city where there is two football league clubs and various others in close proximity (leicester, derby, lincoln, mansfield, sheffield united).

If you adopt a team (like you did with arsenal) its easy to pick the best, but following a less perfect team like stoke city or Nottingham Forest is whats football is all about
