How many clubs get promoted from 2a to La Liga?

Perhaps more importantly for someone who has just started keeping an eye on Las Palmas, how many get relegated?

    Gracias, los dudes :)

Generally 3 are promoted from Segunda A to La Liga (Primera).

In Segunda A, the bottom four are relegated to Segunda B.

Thanks for your response, Malaga CF.

I also just noticed on soccer-spain that they have the top three, and bottom four, highlighted to show the promotion and relegation zones.

I recently invested in an apartment on Gran Canaria and Las Palmas is the local side on the island. Hopefully I'll catch them live sometime later this year.

It would be terrible if they go down, they are fifth from bottom currently, according to that site, ominously close to staring at the big drop!

Maybe they'll get Vinny Samways back lol.

Traditionally, Las Palmas has floated between the first and second division, and I believe had a pretty good chance to move up last year or two years ago. Unfortunately, it seems they have lost most of the talent that made them perennial contenders for promotion.

In the past, either Tenerife or Las Palmas has had a team in the first division, so it's a tough time to be a soccer fan on the Canary Islands right now. Still, following Segunda A isn't too bad. There are a lot of quality players and the level of play is excellent. As long as Las Palmas can avoid relegation, I think you will be happy following and attending their matches. Las Palmas has always had a distinct homefield advantage as well.
