All the news articles say the capacity of the stadium is 13,786. I thought the end of phase one was going to seat 17,500? Can anyone enlighten me as to what happened?

I wouldn't be so sure about that. The team is still open to what they will do after the season is complete and they start spending the remaining $10 million that they have to spend. It could mean bigger and better bleachers under the open end of the stadium. It could mean the second upper deck being put in. It will certainly include building out the current luxury suites, moving the team offices, locker rooms, and team store into the former Empire Plastics building. The team doesn't even know what the capacity will be when they complete Phase II prior to next season.
