They keep saying "first basemen coach Gemboa" Is that is position on the team or is he also like an assistant coaching helping out with different positions? I find it kinda foolish to have a guy specifically for telling a guy to run or not/steal or not. All I'm wondering is if that's his only position.
More accurately, he's the "First Base Coach". His primary job is to direct the runner at first base but he also studies the defense and communicates with the bench and the third base coach. Here's a description of the first base coach's respobsibilities: http://members.aol.com/CoachPrieb/base.htm
wow, that's a lot of info, thanks man. It's been on my mind all day and I had to know what a first base coach did. I guess they really do have quite a load on their hands.
