Knighton could have bought United with financing through the Bank of Scotland. Most of what was written about him then came through the tabloids.

Knighton is just a fan trying to get the Glazers to sell United. He's not trying to become the owner himself. The point of his hostile bid gambit is to get the ball rolling, to put the idea out there, that they need to sell. You guys really want to blame a guy for trying? Would it be better if no one did anything?

Apparently the Glazers are trying to sell a portion of our TV rights to find a stadium renovation.

This shit needs to be stopped at all cost. They would not only be screwing us now, but screwing us well after they leave. This is the type of shit that’s going to ruin Barca. Hopefully the FA has the balls to stop this.

I've been posting about this crap for weeks now while EPL fans engaged in a morality play over. Barca

A get laughing at them as a fan rivalry thing, but the reality is, this Private Equity / Hedge Fund disaster is coming to a sportball team near you

Chelsea have been acquired by PE at a price that makes no financial sense, and with a promise to 1bn+ into the team

How can any of that stack up, unless there is some plan to make the team vastly more valuable?

i.e. some form of super league

Even after they leave, we'll be paying the consequences of their ownership for years to come.

Antony, Lisandro, Malacia... Def ETH signings. Arguably Eriksen too. Case was signed b/c of ETH req to get De Jong. We didn't sign Case b/c board thought Scott needed replacing.

how would you guys feel if the club was bought from the Glazers by a sovereign state fund or some oligarch? would you be onboard with that?

or even a Chinese consortium? as badly as we want rid of the Glazers?

^ I'm fine with Ratcliffe, although the grass isn't necessarily all that greener. Others, no.

i'm wondering if this is the same minor investment mentioned earlier in the year to raise revenue to a max of circa 20/25%. may have even been class B shares but nothing that actually cedes any control

These sons of bitches better not get my hopes up and this end up being a sale of non-voting shares. If this is the real thing, an end to our misery under the Glazers might finally be here. Ratcliffe is hopefully on notice.

Whitwell says it’s a sale they want. Have officially hired a banking company to oversee the sale.

    Holy shit.

Edit: the Sky reporter who originally broke the story says a minority sale is a possibility but that a full on sale is also on the table. Sounds like if a big enough offer comes in they’ll sell. And you’ll have to think some big offers will come in. A club of our size hasn’t been for sale…really ever.

It's going to take an offer of around 9 billion dollars for a complete sale IMO.

Liverpool being available might be a tremendously complicating factor too.
