Another one wrapped up, with surely many more to come... Rob Gronkowski is returning to the Bucs on a one-year deal worth $10 million, @DrewJRosenhaus told @AdamSchefter. pic.twitter.com/lQc39h3XQk— SportsCenter (@SportsCenter) March 15, 2021
Utd also looking for a new automobile partner too. Chevrolet had that included in their sponsorship deal— Paul Hirst (@hirstclass) March 19, 2021
That’s including incentives and the vehicle sponsorship. We’ll have to wait and see how the rest shakes out
It is down from £64m pa to £47m pa. But, we will also be arranging a new automotive sponsor, which should claw back some of the difference (no idea how much these other sponsors amount to though). It'd be interesting to know if this is front loaded at all, to help us cover a big summer signing.
🗞️ The deal with Chevrolet was worth around £51m a year. However this deal included Chevrolet being official automobile sponsor. #mufc are now looking to secure new partner in that regard that will bring in additional funds to the TeamViewer [£47m] shirt deal. #MUFC MD Richard Arnold: “The process (of finding a shirt sponsor) was incredibly successful. We had more than 10 participants in the final phase. We were able to choose between partners, which is a very fortunate situation to be in, in the context (of the pandemic)"— Simon Peach (@SimonPeach) March 19, 2021 Have spoken to #MUFC managing director Richard Arnold about the TeamViewer deal. “It’s a really, really exciting deal for the club. We won’t talk about money & it being the biggest deal & how it compares. Obviously it’s strong. We’re Manchester United & so that’s not a surprise"— Simon Peach (@SimonPeach) March 19, 2021 Our training ground/kit deal with AON which was worth 22.5 Ps/yr is running out this summer as well, so we'll see how much we'll get with our new partner there.
The World’s Most Valuable Soccer Teams: Barcelona On Top At $4.8 Billion (forbes.com) United are in 4th spot (down from 3rd last year). Barca have overtaken Real for the top spot this season.
Ed Woodward is expected to choose #mufc's chief executive before he leaves the club #mulive [men]— utdreport (@utdreport) April 23, 2021
If anyone owns shares, you should look out for an email with instructions to vote for the AGM. You can post your vote before hand. I voted against confirming every single member of the board. There may need to be another email sent out for folks who vote early (deadline isn't till June 2nd) because Woodward's name is all over the paperwork and he's listed as a board member also. People are free to do whatever they want, but I'm voting against everyone on principle.
Had a very interesting conversation today...my understanding is that Woodward and Arnold have known about SL plan since before Xmas with virtually everyone else at club totally in the dark. Charlie Brooks (PR) actually wrote the Glazer apology...a total shit show!— The MUFC Academy 🥇🔴⚪️⚫️🐝🍷 (@mrmujac) April 23, 2021
I don't know who that guy is talking to that has that information or how they could have it. Even so, of course someone from PR wrote the apology.
MUFC Academy is Tony Park who is a Man Utd historian who has written books on the club. All the journos follow him plus some players. He is known by many in the club (hence why Gaz Nev liked the tweet).
Liverpool's accounts show the club has overtaken Man Utd in wages paid - can't remember when that last happened. 'Big Six' wages table for 2019/20 here: Man City £351mLiverpool £325mMan Utd £284mChelsea £283mArsenal £225mSpurs £181m— Martyn Ziegler (@martynziegler) April 27, 2021
Kudos to Ole and the staff for cutting the fat. The wage bill is lower because of our sales. We still have one or two players lingering that shouldn't be on the books... Matic and Jones and a couple that will be leaving shortly as well Romero & Grant. If we could some how shift De Gea we'd be golden.
Small reminder for those who seem to have forgotten, why the Glazers have to change or go. Been like that almost from the start also. SAF and Gill held it all together in the early part of their reign but it all crumbled as soon as they left... The points made by Marcotti and Ogden below are especially pertinent...
