Re: Quarterfinal 3: Winners Group C - Runners-up Group D | 10.07.11 [R] Don't know if this is happenstance but it's a good kick off time for both countries' supporters - early Sunday afternoon in Sweden and 9.00 pm in the east states of Australia.
Re: Quarterfinal 3: Winners Group C - Runners-up Group D | 10.07.11 [R] Think the Aussies win a tight one....maybe pk's.
Re: Quarterfinal 3: Winners Group C - Runners-up Group D | 10.07.11 [R] Impossible to predict but Australia been looking scary good, its gonna be a close game and i think that Aussie ladys are gonna win this one. Sweden hade a huge battle against the Usa and they are gonna feel that in their bodys and legs for days! Australia is scoring finding the net, Sweden isent. Lisa De Vanna has found the net more the once Schelin hasent! Australia is gonna run all over poor Sweden! Good luck to both teams!
Re: Quarterfinal 3: Winners Group C - Runners-up Group D | 10.07.11 [R] The one good thing about the US losing is that the American fans don't have to get up at 6 am to watch their quarterfinal match.
You mean Svensson and Ljungberg have been here before (2003). Those players are long gone and retired. How many "current" Sweden players were there on that 2003 team? I know that Schelin wasn't, as she was too young then. Sweden will probably win (I say 60% chance), but it won't be because they've been here before (at least the current players). However, they "expect" to be here, while this might be a little bit more nerve-wrecking to handle for the Australian team. But then again, those Matildas persevere when they need to, in order to keep it a great match. They had Brazil on their heels in the 2007 WWC Quarterfinal.
Four, but one is (and was) a backup GK. Sara Larsson, Sofia Lundgren, Therese Sjögran, Josefine Öqvist So one each in defense, goal, midefield and attack.
Re: Quarterfinal 3: Winners Group C - Runners-up Group D | 10.07.11 [R] Yet, we're here anyway.. I have to rethink my life. (Go Australia)
