Otto: You know your problem? You don't like winners. Archie: Winners? Otto: Yeah. Winners. Archie: Winners, like North Vietnam? Otto: Shut up. We didn't lose Vietnam. It was a tie. Archie: [going into a cowboy-like drawl] I'm tellin' ya baby, they kicked your little ass there. Boy, they whooped yer hide REAL GOOD.
I think the question should be which team would give the usa the best match in the quarterfinals..... while colombia has many 2nd tier players, their overall team composure and defending should make them more difficult than jamaica or t&t... would be interesting to get south africa because their counter game would test the usa somewhat....
RE: MLSNHTOWN's post: wow. I think OP was just trying to discuss the various opponents' strengths. I concur with A.Zebrowski that it would be fun to see USMNT face the Bafana Bafana not only because of their countering style but also that big athletic competition is, to me, the thing our players struggle the most with, from top to bottom of our roster.
Well, since I have tickets to the Quarterfinals in Foxboro this weekend I am hoping BIG TIME that we get Mexico!! I agree, we shouldn't WORRY about who we draw in the Quarters of the Gold Cup. We are playing in what is typically a very strong venue for the US to boot.
