Dave Kasper, technical director of DC United has denied the rumoured transfer of Santino Quaranta to Manchester United... Kasper did go on to say that Santino is headed to Sunderland to train for a few weeks in December.. Kasper was a guest on "The Soccer Show" tonight in DC and told host John Dyson that the rumour is just that, a rumour.... The show will be archived and available at 12 Noon tomorrow Eastern time.. Go to http://www.wust1120.com and click onto Archived Shows and click onto Week 3 for the broadcast...
Did I also mention that Orson Welles told me Earth was being invaded by aliens? (no offense Cweed, I heard the show too, that's why I'm posting)

Sunderland! I guess DCU wants him to learn some bad habits from Flo and the rest of the Mackems (except for Reyna). I can't believe a Geordie such as Ray Hudson would approve of such a move.
Re: Re: Quaranta to United is denied by DC United.... I thought they indicated the Sunderland thing was in connection with the US youth team he is on? Flo totally sucks, Sunderland are fools. The only thing he does is fall down, putz.
Starting If Santino doesn't need to go throught the work permit mess, what is the over/under on how many weeks before he starts?
Chris Bergin on Planet Football/USSoccerUK is reporting that ManU is also denying any formal agreement regarding Quaranta. They do say, however, that they are "monitoring" both him and Ed Johnson. Which of course could mean anything from "we have somebody staking out his house" to "we check the papers to see if he's scored lately"
Well, according to some people from Manchester over on the USSoccerUk forums, the news about MUFC buying an MLS player made MUTV which means it had to have been cleared by the club itself to get aired. I'll get bashed for this b.c. lots of people like to bash Chris around here, but I'm going with him and MUFC on this one and not Dave Kasper. From what I gather, it doesn't matter if a club in MLS doesn't want to sell, all that matters is if Ivan the Terrible likes the offer. Maybe Ivan hasn't been forthcoming with some info. to poor Dave.
Jordan Older doesn't have a club does he? Maybe MLS beat MUFC to signing him knowing they wanted him so they could get a transfer fee out of it. Where's Jordan mom when you need her?
Everyone should realize that the rules in Sports Business are as follows: Deny, deny, deny, admit rumors, admit something is developing but admit not being at liberty to say, deny new rumors, finally announce what everone knew after three magazines and two websites have already reported the news.... Let's just wait to see what happens.... Peace
