Can somebody explain how teams qualify for the 9 (?) spots in the playoffs? Other than group leaders, who qualifies? How does the "repechaje" get determined?
8 teams participate in the playoffs. The champion is determined by who ever advances out of the quarters, semis, and final. there are 4 groups of 5. the group leader qualifies automatically. If a team is second in one group, but another team has more points that them and does not happen to be first or second in thier respective group, then a reclassification game is played to determine the quarterfinal participant. Group 1 *22 *22 ~21 ~20 5 Group 2 *26 ~19 18 17 10 Group 3 *27 ~18 17 14 2 Group 4 *27 *25 17 12 2 NOTE: fictitious results * automatic qualification ~ play a reclassification game 21 v 18 20 v 19 there can only be 2 reclassification games. If there are no "dicrepencies", then no reclassifiation games are needed
