Apertura Finalists Pumas vs. Monterrey I guess that makes Monterrey the 2nd MFL team in the CCC... (final confirmation coming)
Re: Apertura Finalists Those are two pretty tough teams! Who will be the second CCC team if pumas wins again?
Re: Apertura Finalists As I was saying... CF Monterrey progress to 2005 CONCACAF Champions’ Cup: http://www.concacaf.com/view_article.asp?id=2874
Re: CONCACAF Champions' Cup What's the over/under on red cards + penalty kicks given for DC United + Kansas City for their first round away legs?

2005 CONCACAF Champions’ Cup draw to be held next Wednesday: http://www.concacaf.com/view_article.asp?id=2876
I wonder if the north american teams are gonna have the final game home advantage as always.... I still dream with the day that the 8 ramaining teams are treated equally
Re: CONCACAF Champions' Cup Morelia was foot poisoning. A little Montezuma's revenge. Santos Laguna -in the Copa MercoNorte- was where the T&T refs failed to show and the local guy red carded two Wizards and awarded Santos 2 PKs in a 4-2 home cookin' win. The Wizards actually got revenge in the 2002 CCC by eliminating Santos Laguna (the first MLS side to eliminate an MFL team) before the debacle at Monarcas Morelia.
Re: CONCACAF Champions' Cup Yes, I remember it all very clearly. Without the Morelia debacle the Wizards would probably be considered the brightspot for MLS these last four years (being the only team to overcome a Mexican opponent.)
Goodbye Toyota Cup, hello FIFA Club World Championship: http://www.fifa.com/en/news/feature/0,1451,104680,00.html?articleid=104680
I'm glad I was able to watch it live. That stupid FSW ticker on the Bigsoccer front page also gives away the result (...I'm sure that one spoiled it for many.)
Field set in draw for 2005 CONCACAF Champions’ Cup: http://www.concacaf.com/view_article.asp?id=2889 Pumas UNAM (MEX) - CD Olimpia (HON) D.C. United (USA) - CFU Champion (JAM) CF Monterrey (MEX) - CSD Municipal (GUA) K.C. Wizards (USA) - Deportivo Saprissa (CRC) Olimpia, DCU, Monterrey, and KC hosting the first leg. (happy Morado?)
Will be interesting to see the shape of DC and the Wiz in March. DC will probably move on, but KC might not beat Saprissa. Can't this thing possibly be scheduled one month later? It's not like there are a ton of games to the Champ's Cup....
I like DCU prospects! It'll be much harder in the semifinals when it either plays against one of the two mexican teams or saprissa!
Harbour View top TG for regional crown Pumas UNAM (MEX) - CD Olimpia (HON) D.C. United (USA) - Harbour View FC (JAM) CF Monterrey (MEX) - CSD Municipal (GUA) K.C. Wizards (USA) - Deportivo Saprissa (CRC)
Two years ago the tourney had 16 teams. 4 Mexican ,4 MLS. 6 Central Ameican, 2 Caribean. It was supposed to be played in a league format. Home-Home. But sponsership could not be found. So they used the Sudamerica knockoout format. I would like to go back to 16 teams . Either league or knock out does not matter,. But it defintely should be on TV. Because one of the Semi final matches will be Pumas VS D C United. That should be a series for the ages. The MLS champ against the Mexican Champ. Que Bueno.
