Habeus Corpus - real new york @ Publica (capacity 90k)

real new york bids for promotion to div iv.26 (hello stogey). Habeus has a huge edge in first eleven tsi and, on paper, should beat me without much trouble. i don't quite get his team though - he doesn't play friendlies although he still logs in. his players are in shite form overall whereas mine are mostly at or near the top of their game, so i might have a chance to win and get mercilessly pounded in iv next season. who else has a qualy?

The Rangers are in a bid to promote for the second consecutive season, this time to III. It should be a fairly even game and a good one to watch. I think I stand a decent shot tonight.

Mongrel FC of USA IV.36, USA earns its first ever qualifier to D3.
Faces stiff competition as the 64th ranked team in D4 against
    Houston Hippopotami of III.3.
    matchID=112973233

Odds are heavily against a Mongrel FC win as they seem to have exhausted themselves the last couple of games of the season in their first ever asenscion to a D4 title in only their second season in D4.

I decided to field a team and win in a walkover, thus promoting to III. As much as I might not be ready, or feel that I'm ready, it doesn't make sense to give up the extra training. Plus it looks like there will be 2-3 beatable teams in III.5.

    What a beating! ;)

III.5 here I come. I'm 8 seasons in, and the next youngest team looks to be 16 seasons in...

in what should have been a 50/50 game - the guy changes to a 5-3-2 and presses?????

I am up 2-0 and it looks like I will be in Div IV next year.

5-0 up and they are down to 10 men as they had an injury and no one on the bench - guy definitely tanked this game on purpose.

yeah pretty much, not too happy, but I'm not gonna complain, especially after the match I had last season in my qualifier. I'll still be upset though.

Yeah although at the moment I can't spend any money on player improvements, because I have a friend training a keeper for me that should be ready by about week 11 or so next season, so I have to have the money to pay for that. I'm sure I'll battle for the top half of the table again, but it'll be hard for me to take the series next season I think.

This is just what I was going to say before hitting the 2nd page in this thead and catching this last post of yours. Losing by a goal in a qualy must be tough, but youve got nothing on the guy you beat out last season, I bet he's still not over it...

I lost 1-0. Back to Division VI

    Damn it.

I'm sure winning the previous league match 10-0 and being overconfident didn't help

YEah I'm sure he's not, although that match shoulda been that close, the match engine just decided that my goals should be that late in the game.
