43rd min. -- DeRosario fires one off the woodwork.

Nice on-field feud going on between Mullan and Burciaga (although Mullan had better watch it)...

Agoos does well to defend against Simutenkov in the box, making Onstad's job a bit easier.

Halftime whistle goes-- 1-0, Quakes, on Dwayne DeRosario's 40th-minute goal.

    Halftime.

Nice half for the Quakes. We controlled most of the play, too bad we couldn't have added another goal. Mullan does need to watch out though.

Time to feed the cat and get my wife to work.

I should be back sometime early in the second half, I hope-- but can someone cover me on the PbP? Thanks in advance. :)

Im sorry but I like to think of goals of the season to be ones the player intended to do. Im willing to put a lot of money on that being a misplaced cross.

A cross that close to the woodwork, at that angle, with two defenders on him???

Don't think so pal...that was a shot, period.

By the way, the San Jose supporters sound REALLY GOOD on national TV...keep it up :)

What is Stone going on about? He's just watched a slo-mo replay showing Garcia never touched the ball.

Doesn't look that bad for spartan. Anybody else see Donovan's, "I'm big in Europe", shirt durring his interview with Waldo?

I thought it was a shot that defineately got nicked by Garcia.

You are probably looking at the south end zone behind the KC goal since most of the action is against KC. That section is usually not sold and covered up. Most people sit in the East stand which is where the TV is shooting into. The Quakes had over 25K each of the last two home games. I am not at the game today but attendance looks like 15k or so to me on TV.

I guess not the two games in the east looked empty too

My suspicion on the DeRo goal was that he didnt expect the ball to work out that way. Wether it was a cross or a prayer shot that got answered, I dont know.

All in all, pretty good half for us.

I agree on that. It was a very random thing. Eh well, no matter..1-0 is 1-0.

Start of the 2nd half. Quakes need to get a goal here.

Flawless, but having said that, the Wizards' attack hasn't looked all that threatening yet.

All in all, a very concerted effort by Corrales and the back four behind him to quell whatever the Wizards have put forward.

    2-0!! Waibel!!!!!!
