Kinnear, on defending: “Some games you don’t play your best, and I think that was the case today. But, if you are honest and hard working in defense then you can get something out of the match. Viking had us under some pressure today, but we defended very well, so we did not allow them any clear-cut chances. We defended very well in the box.”
Dom also said that he felt that his players were collapsing into a defensive shell (my paraphrase) late in the game, and that might have something to do with the players' overall fitness at this stage of the pre-season.
All in all, however, not a bad showing, entering the third-place match. No losses in this tournament in Europe-- a good starting point for the season ahead.
