Boy have I been getting a lot of press lately.

"They'll play here in '05, but under same 'Dark Cloud'" - San Jose Mercury News. (Ann Killion)

"There has been a Dark Cloud over the organization," - Alexi Lalas

But the Chronicle got my name wrong.

    "Playoffs over but questions remain"

"In the end, that Black Cloud that has hung over the Earthquakes all season simply was too hard to escape." - San Francisco Chronicle (Dwight Chapin)

Edit: Oops I forgot what day it is. Here is the correct link for the first two quotes.

    "Still the San Jose Earthquakes"

Who would have thunk there would ever be too many Earthquake's stories in the SJMN to keep track of?

DarkCloud, nothing personal but could you please stop hanging over the Quakes organization? ;) Move on already.

Even if Donovan does leave, the Quakes will be forced to protect him in the upcoming expansion draft. The co-sharing agreement with German club Bayern Leverkusen expires at the end of the calendar year and according to Lalas, if the Quakes were to leave Donovan unprotected, they would risk losing the allocation that the loss of his services would surely bring.

    ahh..the MLS at its finest....
