It definitely doesn't appear to be wider than 72 yards. As others have said in other threads it is fairly easy to gestimate the width of a soccer pitch. The PA/box is always 44 yards wide; the distance from the corner to the hash is always 11 yards (on each side). That is 66 yards + whatever the distance between the hash mark and the PA/box. It doesn't look like it is more than 3 yards in the photos I have seen of the SJ game. That would make the field 72 yards.
From what I've just been told, they expect/hope to receive the field level LED boards sometime midweek. -G
As a Texans fan that's witnessed 10+ years of getting our assed kicked by Manning/Luck, I disagree with this statement.

Great picture @Goodsport and its awesome seeing Milan Mandaric back in town. If it weren't for him, none of us would be here!
Absolutely! Hopefully the past San Jose Earthquakes players, particularly those from Milan Mandaric's era, don't feel resentful/regretful at not having had the chance to call such a nice stadium home. -G

So, I take it we can keep the Quakes stadium construction thread going until they finish the roof and outer skin?

In regards to the Ultras- The travelling Vancouver fans praised them on twitter, which must mean they were good, you never usually see that. Maybe it's because they're Canadian! lol 587146603225427968 is not a valid tweet id The bar is a big hit, the stands aren't ever really full because a ton of people are at the bar. The terrace is terrible, just a bunch of drumming. Respect to Ultras Montreal by the way. Hope you guys make the trip to Azteca and have a great time. Cheers.
