There hasn't been any announcement of local TV (i.e., Fox Sports Bay Area). The advance listings at tvguide.com don't have it on there. GOOD NEWS: soccertv.com, which I find to be very accurate shows the game on (at 8PM, 2 hours tape delayed, but fine with me) http://www.soccertv.com/us.cfm
Per the Quakes media department: MLS has scheduled a conference call with Fox Sports later today to announce TV packages. Mike
www.hd.net/mlsinhd.html HDNet will carry 6 quake games... 4 home, 2 away more games when fsw announces their schedule (opening weekend, for everyone else, is most likely united vs wizards on fsw)
Nationwide games Here are the Quakes games for all (Eastern Times): ESPN2 -- May 31st: Chicago @ SJ 4pm July 19th: SJ @ DC 4pm July 26th: Dallas @ SJ 10pm August 16th: SJ @ NE 4pm October 5th: NY/NJ @ SJ 4pm FSW -- June 7th: SJ @ Columbus 7:30pm
Unfortunate that due to time slots and the late nature of this FSW deal that the Quakes are only on one time in 25 games. LA is only on 3 times. D.C. is one like 8 or 10 times. I still think/hope/pray/believe that a Fox Sports Bay Area deal for the Quakes is forthcoming. As mentioned above soccertv.com seems to think so.
When I saw this I was (and still am!) f'ing pissed off! One game out of 25? It's not like the Quakes don't play away games in the eastern time zone. GRRRR
Thank God there's any coverage at all! I'll take 25 games over none any time. I think we should count our blessings that Fox Sports World is showing ANY MLS matches and throwing in a weekly review as well. Well done Rupert!
premium of the premium, essentially only a couple of digital cable systems offer it, dish (satellite system) offers it... and in order to get it you need special receivers the guy who owns the channel is the dallas mavericks owner, marc(k?) cuban you can go to the website and search out what bars, restuarants and stores have the channel... and i'm sure that there would be a bar or two that would have hdnet in the san jose area... this would be soccer broadcasted in high definition... should be pretty sweet (and no, i don't have it either)
I agree this will be great for the league, even getting MLS out to other countries, but what are they thinking with so little coverage of the best team in MLS?
